WI Juniors Grand Slam: Attackers You Gotta See!

As I walked to around the Baird Center, there were impressive attackers across all age groups and divisions. Some of these attackers are new to us and others we have followed for a while and love the growth they have shown. For one impressive reason or another, these attackers caught my eye as they made huge contributions on the court for their teams! This 6 rotation outside can attack from both pins, out of the middle, and also from out of the back court. She reads the block in front of her well, knows how to adjust, and will deliver an array of cross court, line and cut shots that are hard to defend. She is also solid on serve receive. She does a good job passing off her midline and creating good angles to deliver balls to target and keep her team in system.     Stabler is a versatile attacker that knows how to score. She will not only take the big impressive swings on in system balls, but also knows how to transition effectively, track the ball, and take those big out of system swings to generate kills as well. Stauber also has excellent court vision. She sees the block and the open spots and will push the ball to corners scoring points once again for her team.     Knoll is one of those attackers that is dynamic to watch. She is speed and power rolled into one. She has a solid vertical, big arm swing, explosive approach, and quick movements that allow her to get on top of the ball to deliver hard shots. Knoll is out of those attackers to keep tabs on as I am sure she is going places in the volleyball circuit.     I became a [player_tooltip player_id='546351' first='Camryn' last='Carter'] fan the first time I saw her transition off the pass, explode to the pin, and deliver a lethal cross court attack that no one was going to stop. Teams routinely try to serve at her in hopes that it will take her out of the play...however, she moves too fluid and quick for that. Carter was also a big asset from the backcourt as well. She is always ready to swing and she delivered multiple attacks from the back court that scored her team points.     I just happened to come by Catlin's court by chance and found myself staying for a while. She is very impressive and fun to watch. This dynamic outside does a solid job reading the defensive and uses her explosive approach and big vertical to go up and over the block to score. She also does a great job varying her shots so defenses never know where she is going to go.     Grahn is a middle with a big presence at the net. She has a fast arm swing and quick movements that allow her to not only be a driving force on offense, but also put up a big block on defense. She moves quickly laterally and is able to close the block and or slow down many attacks with block touches.     Farrell is a 6 rotation outside with a ton of potential. She does a good job reading the block in front of her. She will hit the seam, go around the block entirely, or will use blockers to her advantage to score points. She also does a good job transitioning off the pass to attack. Defensively, Farrell played solid middle back defense. She is quick and will track down those carefully placed balls to the corners. Farrell is one that I can't wait to check back in as she is young player that is only going to continue to grow her game.     Lefties are some of my favorites and Schneider quickly was added to that list. Schneider is a fiery lefty attacker that does so many things well including knowing how to score. She moves fast, adapts to the set, and finds a way to unload big cross court and line shots. Schneider also plays good off blocker defense, coming up with big digs in key moments and will also pickup numerous tips and dumps. Schneider's serve is also crazy good as it is flat and has good movement on it. She was able to go on some well timed runs to help propel her team to some big wins.     Duria is a middle blocker with excellent reading skills and big hops. She does a good job reading the setter and moving laterally to put up some big blocks. She is also a stud on the offense end. She uses that big vertical and her speed to run the quick out of the middle or hit the gap to generate multiple points for her team. Duria also has good reactions and court awareness. Teams looking for a 2026 quick and powerful middle should look her way.
