<p>That inspired this look at five Western Kansas setters from the Class of 2027.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='566827' first='Brooke' last='Bieker']</strong>, 5'11”, S, Hays, '27</p>

<p>Bieker is a tall setter ranked No. 81 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. She recorded 754 assists for the Indians during her sophomore season. She is athletic and versatile. She also collected 140 digs, 28 blocks, and 54 kills. She has a hard and accurate serve that will play at the collegiate level.</p>

<p>South Gray's Zweygardt is ranked No. 81 overall by Prep Dig Kansas. She registered an eye-popping 832 assists in 97 sets played for the Rebels last season. She finished with 191 digs, 21 aces, and 35 kills during her sophomore campaign. She has quick feet and plays solid defense as well.</p>

<p>Another impressive setter out west is Dodge City's Bogner. She finished her sophomore season with 612 assists for the Demons. In 78 sets played Bogner also recorded 194 digs, 63 kills, and 25 blocks. She is ranked No. 84 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. Bogner has a hard serve that dives at the end. She moves and communicates well.</p>

<p>A wild-card out west is Beloit's Thompson. She will get a chance to take over the starting setter position for the Trojans. Beloit graduated four athletes who are headed off to college to play volleyball, including Thompson's older sister, Sophia. Beloit will be a younger team this fall, but possibly even more athletic. The Beloit junior is ranked No. 154 overall by Prep Dig Kansas. She is a physical athlete who can also hit or play libero.</p>

<p>Gerdes is ranked No. 160 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. She dished out 517 assists for Medicine Lodge last season. She has two years of experience setting at the varsity level. Gerdes has recorded 776 total assists in two seasons for the Indians. She will make a run at 1,000 assists and 1,000 digs this season and next. Gerdes also plays softball for Medicine Lodge and hit .443 as a sophomore, scoring 32 runs and hitting eight doubles.</p>
