Summer is here, and it's time to start tracking players in summer leagues throughout the state. Licking Summer Camps are going on their 33rd year and provide top-notch play. Columbia, IL knocked off Sullivan 25-15, 25-18 to win the top flight, while Red Bud, IL beat Arcadia Valley 25-17, 25-11 to win the next flight. Here are some of the top players from the Arnold Camp.

Lyla Steber | 2027 | Fort Zumwalt West

Lyla was named to the all-tournament team as the 5'9” opposite came up with big plays. The [program_tooltip program_id='428799' first='Rockwood' last='Thunder'] 15 Navy player hit on the opposite pin in the club season and could be used on either pin for West. Lyla puts up a big block and can terminate with an excellent line shot.

Libbie Meek | 2026 | North Point

North Point will be in good shape with Libbie returning as the team's libero. Libbie plays great cross-court defense, using her speed to cover a large portion of the court. Libbie's play this season will be key for North Point to continue the upward trend of becoming a top program. She will also have the chance to reach 1000 career digs before the season is over.

[player_tooltip player_id='618831' first='Albany' last='Humphrey'] | 2027 | North Point

Another North Point player on the all-tournament team is [player_tooltip player_id='618831' first='Albany' last='Humphrey'], the hammer on the left side. Albany returns as the team's top returning attacker, and her play with HPSTL during the club season has helped her improve in every aspect. In case you didn't know, Albany is already in the MSHSAA record books with a top 5 best hitting percentage last year, hitting 727% with 17 kills, one error on 22 attempts.

[player_tooltip player_id='784739' first='Kerrigan' last='Blocker'] | 2027 | Hillsboro

Kerrigan has been playing lights out for the [program_tooltip program_id='428799' first='Rockwood' last='Thunder'] 15 White, and her improvement over the winter will greatly benefit Hillsboro this fall. The opportunity will be there for Kerrigan to move into a starting position on varsity. She can use her power on the left pin to help the Hawks push for a district title.

[player_tooltip player_id='490217' first='Sophie' last='Steinbrueck'] | 2026 | Seckman

The dynamo libero out of Seckman stormed onto the court two seasons ago and set 181 digs away from the 1000-dig plateau, which she should reach about midway through this season. A quick and agile libero who knows her role and does it exceptionally well. An excellent passer and defender can take up a ton of court to allow her hitters to transition early.

[player_tooltip player_id='569674' first='Brenna' last='Botkin'] | 2026 | Farmington

Botkin played for [program_tooltip program_id='428797' first='Pursuit' last=''] 17s this club season and had a great season on the left pin. Her ability to play on either pin will help her come fall. At 5'8”, Brenna is a little undersized, but her vertical and hang time allow her to succeed. A high IQ player will help her Black Knights push for a district title.

[player_tooltip player_id='236998' first='Ava' last='Blankenship'] | 2026 | Sullivan

The 5'11” middle for the Eagles walked onto the court three years ago and has done nothing but terminate, and currently has 756 kills for her career. Ava is a bouncy middle who gets up quickly and has a high contact point. She's smart with her hits, sees the defenders well and can pick apart a defense. 1,000 career kills is within reach in her final season in an Eagle uniform.
