Washburn University hosted a summer tournament on June 20.

I scouted three matches in Pool C play, which took place in the Whiting Fieldhouse.

The second match I scouted was a two-set split between Sedgwick and Wellsville.

Here is the second of two reports to be published today. Stay posted for more coverage to follow on Saturday and Sunday.

These four athletes had impressive performances in the Pool C Match.

[player_tooltip player_id='206380' first='Kalyn' last='Sampson'], 6'0”, S, Sedgwick, '26

Sampson had a nice all-around match for the Cardinals. She finished with a team-high eight kills, and recorded four serve receptions and two digs. She has a hard serve that will play at the next level. She is ranked No. 28 overall and has verbally committed to Washburn University.

[player_tooltip player_id='785358' first='Brooklyn' last='Cox'], 5'7”, OH, Sedgwick, '28

The Cardinals are loaded with sophomores, and they are a talented group. Cox's leaping ability is what quickly stood out for me. She can jump out of the gym and is a six-rotation talent in the making. She recorded three kills and three digs in the match. She also added one block and one ace. She is an unranked talent who will be added to the rankings during the next round of updates.

[player_tooltip player_id='785360' first='Briella' last='Steventon'], 5'4”, DS, Sedgwick, '28

Another Sedgwick Sophomore who impressed me was Steventon. She is a physical back row athlete at this point in her career. She has a solid platform and made consistent first passes. She recorded three serve receptions and three digs in the match. She also has a hard serve that resulted in two aces against Wellsville.

[player_tooltip player_id='483943' first='Alana' last='Green'], 5'8”, OH, Wellsville, '27

Green was the Wellsville prospect who shone the most in the match. She can flat-out scoot across the court and is a six-rotation prospect. She hits the ball with authority and can cause damage at the net. She finished the match with a team-high four kills, adding three serve receptions, two digs, and one ace. I hope I get a chance to see her play this fall. She has natural athleticism and is fun to watch compete.
