After almost eight months of intense action around the country, the club volleyball season came to an end a few weeks ago, with the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship taking place in Dallas.

The prospects from Texas won't, however, have a lot of time to breathe and relax after defending their club teams, as, in just over a month, on August 11, the high school volleyball season is about to begin in the Lone Star State, with the first matches of the University Interscholastic Legue (UIL) being held.

As in the past years, Prep Dig Texas will continue to follow the action closely in the Houston area, attending multiple matches every week and providing comprehensive coverage, with analysis, photos and social media posts from each of them.

It should be another exciting season, filled with highly-contested matches and strong individual performances, and, before August 11 arrives, we'll preview each district in the Houston area so you know exactly what to expect from each team competing:

District 24

Brazoswood

Brazoswood struggled in district play last season, ending up in eighth and last place with 14 defeats and just five sets won. The Lady Bucs were more successful against non-district opponents and completed their schedule with ten wins and 29 losses. A big part of the team's most recent starting lineup is gone after outside hitters Desteney Kremmer, Grace Stephens and Kayli Sexton and middle Peyton Hawley graduated. Heading into 2025, the Lady Bucs will have senior middle [player_tooltip player_id='811129' first='Alexis' last='Sandoval'], senior right side [player_tooltip player_id='844886' first='Reece' last='Perk'], senior setter Audrey Mulholland and senior libero [player_tooltip player_id='803678' first='Jenave' last='Gomez'] as their main players.

Clear Brook

Clear Brook were one of three teams to end district play with five wins and nine losses and ranked seventh. The Lady Wolves had a long season and completed their calendar with 20 victories and 23 defeats. Outside hitters Alisa York and Elise Jameson, middles Sophia Ashwamee-Garcia and Kim Hingle and setter Alyssa Diemert won't be back with the team after they graduated. Senior middle [player_tooltip player_id='823420' first='Audrey' last='Sebring'], senior libero [player_tooltip player_id='804625' first='Amber' last='Salazar'] and senior libero Josie Hines will be important pieces for the Lady Wolves in the upcoming season.

Clear Creek

Clear Creek secured eight wins and six losses in district play last season and claimed the last spot in the postseason, finishing fourth. The Lady Wildcats got to compete in the Division 2 Playoffs and made it past the first round, falling to Manvel in the area round and ending their season with 26 victories and 19 defeats. Leaving the team in 2025 are outside hitter Olivia Jones, right side Laila Paulino, middle Elijah Ebow and libero Alison Figueroa, who all graduated. Senior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='804624' first='Mia' last='Eason'], junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='819951' first='Mya' last='Lane'], sophomore middle Chloe Sievert, senior libero [player_tooltip player_id='798534' first='Elissa' last='James'] and senior setters Camdym Cole and [player_tooltip player_id='793231' first='Sofia' last='Dhanji'] should provide the Lady Wildcats the platform to have another solid season.

Clear Falls

Clear Falls were the first team below the qualification zone for the playoffs last season, ranking fifth with five wins and nine losses. The Lady Knights, then, ended their season with 17 victories and 25 defeats. In 2025, the team will have a different identity after setter/right side Bri Dunn, outside hitters Annabel Sauers and Isabella Jurisisch and middle Kali Todman graduated. Senior outside hitters [player_tooltip player_id='808170' first='Shirley' last='Pingel'] and [player_tooltip player_id='519340' first='Sophia' last='Green'], sophomore middle [player_tooltip player_id='819648' first='London' last='Woods'], junior setter [player_tooltip player_id='733880' first='Delaney' last='Duckett'] and senior setter Zoie Gaertner will form the core of the team in the upcoming season.

Clear Lake

Clear Lake also registered five wins and nine losses in district play and ended up in sixth place. The Lady Falcons came up two wins short of having a neutral season record and ended their campaign with 20 victories and 22 defeats. Staples in the programs in the last few seasons, the twins Sadie Gafka (outside hitter) and Celia Gafka (libero) graduated, as did middle Jaelyn Bracamonte. The Lady Falcons will have plenty of returning players, though, most notably junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='825666' first='Landry' last='Youngdahl'], senior setter/right side Amelie Webb, senior middle [player_tooltip player_id='820671' first='Selah' last='Frankovich'] and senior setter Peyton Aldridge.

Clear Springs

Clear Springs topped the district standings last year with a campaign of 13 wins and one loss. The Lady Chargers ended their season with 29 victories and 17 defeats after they appeared in the Division 2 Playoffs and lost to Shadow Creek in the area round. Outside hitters Julissa Lamboy and Myah Griggs, middle Andrea Colocado and setter Taylor Tolleson led the team's graduating class. Next season, junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='808171' first='Caylee' last='Young'], senior middle [player_tooltip player_id='822510' first='Kaitlyn' last='Debondt'], senior libero [player_tooltip player_id='580037' first='Lianna' last='Kearns'] and junior setter [player_tooltip player_id='524083' first='Karmen' last='O'Quinn'] are the players the Lady Chargers will build their team around.

Deer Park

Deer Park ranked third in the district in 2024 after getting eight wins and six losses. The Lady Deer couldn't make it past the bi-district round of the Division 1 Playoffs, going down to Atascocita, and saw their season come to an end with 21 victories and 22 defeats. Right side Mycah Whittemore, middle Kailey Sexton, outside hitter Camryn Plocheck, libero Atlee Gonzales and setter Isabella Karabano led their most recent graduating class. Going forward, junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='399116' first='Alixandra' last='Klein'], senior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='805388' first='Deryn' last='Abbott'], senior middle [player_tooltip player_id='579993' first='Audrina' last='Silva'], senior libero [player_tooltip player_id='800136' first='Erin' last='Goodson'] and senior setter Abi Woodson are the players Deer Park will count on.

Dickinson

Dickinson secured a second-place finish in the district last season after getting 12 wins and two losses. The Lady Gators had a very positive season, amassing 33 victories and 13 setbacks, and survived the first round of the Division 1 Playoffs after falling to Pearland in the area round. Star outside hitter Samantha Loyd graduated and left the team, as did middle Caryss Magliolo, libero Daryeon Allen and setter Keely Anderson. In 2025, junior middle [player_tooltip player_id='810004' first='Rebecca' last='Ajong'], senior middle Oniya King and junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='829687' first='Ali' last='Mills'] should be the pillars of the team.
