This is the second report featuring athletes who can set impressive career benchmarks in their final prep season.

The benchmark this time is 2,000 career kills.

I was a bit surprised while researching for this report to only find one lock to reach that benchmark.

I found three senior hitters in our Prep Dig Kansas rankings with chances to reach that mark. There were a couple of other hitters I suspect could be closing in, but they had missing stats on MaxPreps.

Prep Dig Kansas enjoys featuring athletes when they celebrate reaching career marks, but it is not always easy to know who those athletes are, especially with some schools not keeping track of personal statistics.

During the season, feel free to tag me on social media or send me an email when an athlete reaches an important career mark, usually starting at 1,000 and then every 500-plateau reached from there.

[player_tooltip player_id='523687' first='Olivia' last='Stein'], 6'0”, OH, Ingalls, '26

As long as Stein suits up for the Bulldogs this fall, she is a virtual lock to reach 2,000 kills. She enters the season with just 58 kills needed to reach the 2,000-career kill benchmark. She is ranked No. 9 overall in the Prep Dig Kansas rankings and has verbally committed to playing volleyball at Wichita State. She has recorded three straight prep seasons with at least 500 kills.

[player_tooltip player_id='603074' first='Jadence' last='Stewart'], 5'9”, OH, Greeley County, '26

Stewart has a total of 1,227 career kills. The Jackrabbit attacker enters her senior season ranked No. 17 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. Her season high in kills is 470, which she recorded last season as a junior. She had registered 300-plus kills in each of her three prep seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='557767' first='Ava' last='Smith'], 5'9”, OH, Valley Heights, '26

Smith is currently ranked No. 43 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. She enters her senior season with an outside chance of reaching 2,000. She currently has 1,160 career kills after collecting 513 last season for Valley Heights.
