This morning, Prep Dig Kansas published a rankings update for the Class of 2027.

The new rankings include 250 total athletes and 33 athletes making their rankings debut.

As always, I would like to remind our readers that being in the rankings is more important than where you rank. There will be plenty of ebbs and dips for players in the rankings.

As you will notice, the top group of players has already verbally committed. As we get later in the recruitment process, stats, offers, and commitments mean more to me as a scout than projections.

Here is a look at four athletes making their rankings debut. Each one begins their rankings journey ranked among the Top 100.

[player_tooltip player_id='807119' first='Reagan' last='Winter'], 6'2”, R/OHS, Andale, '27

It's rare that an athlete makes a debut this late in the game in the Top 20, but that is what Winter has achieved. After showing up and showing out at an open gym this month she debuts at No. 20. She can punish the ball like Reggie White punished ball carriers. She has a smooth approach and competed with a high-level of confidence during the open gym.

[player_tooltip player_id='827935' first='Taylor' last='Steele'], 5'10”, MB/RS, Olathe South, '27

Steel parlayed a solid showing at the Washburn Elite Camp into a debut at No. 50 overall. To say she has been overlooked to this point would be a gross understatement. I watched younger club teams this past offseason and have not watched Olathe South play, so she was a surprise prospect at the Washburn camp. Steele finished with 104 kills for the Falcons last season, but led the team in hitting percentage. She has a nice combination of speed and physicality.

[player_tooltip player_id='784489' first='Aubree' last='Ella Hess'], 6'2”, MB, Emporia, '27

Emporia's Hess debuts at No. 51 overall. I saw her play for the first time at the Seaman summer tournament for high school squads. She has a long reach and can be disruptive at the net. She posted more blocks last season than kills, which is rare. She finished 98 blocks and 84 kills for the Spartans in 86 sets played as a sophomore.

[player_tooltip player_id='860223' first='Megan' last='Klabo'], 6'0”, MB, Andale, '27

Klabo is another athlete I discovered during the KNVBC open gym in August. She enters the rankings at No. 62 overall. She is a physical hitter and is super strong. She is an athlete you can't overpass against. She has a high ceiling and looks to me to be a great fit for Division II programs.
