Colorado 5A Volleyball- The Power Seven of the Week

<p>In honor of NFL draft season, we're putting a volleyball spin on things. Instead of quarterbacks and wide receivers, we're talking outside hitters, middles, setters, and liberos. Here are my current draft picks for the Power Seven of the Week.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">With the first pick of this week's rotation:</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Berger has been a steady force on the pin for Niwot, racking up 141 kills on the season and 4.7 per set. She is efficient with a .264 hitting percentage. At 5'8 she plays bigger than her size using her quick jump and sharp shot selection to keep defenses out of system. She also contributes all-around with 74 digs, showing her value both front and back row. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">With the second pick of this week's rotation:</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Gray is proving her volleyball IQ is well beyond her years, running Legacy's offense with 308 assists at 9.6 per set. Even as just a sophomore, she is already showing the ability to read the game, spread the offense, and keep her hitters in rhythm. She also mixes in her own attack when the moment calls for it, tallying 12 kills on a .211 hitting percentage to keep defenses on their toes. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">With the third pick of of this week's rotation:</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Foster has been a force in the middle, racking up 48 total blocks- 38 of them being solo. She averages 1.9 blocks per set, helping her defense out. At 6'1, she brings height and timing that opponents struggle to get around. Offensively, she's efficient as well, tallying 76 kills with 2.7 per set. Her two way impact makes her a difference maker at the net for Poudre.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading"> With the fourth pick of this week's rotation:</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Rucker is bringing senior leadership and balance to the Raptors' front line, putting down 123 kills at 3.3 per set. She is also making her presence defensively known with 17 solo blocks, and an additional 63 digs. Rucker's versatility and steady production make her a reliable go-to for Eaglecrest.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">With the fifth pick of this week's rotation:</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Maliawco has been a model of efficiency for Monarch, hitting an impressive .429. She currently has 50 kills on the season with 2.5 per set. She is consistent both ways, adding 19 blocks, and about 1 block per set. With her senior presence and ability to convert consistently, Maliawco gives Monarch a reliable threat in the middle. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">With the sixth pick of this week's rotation:</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Mordi is a versatile lefty who brings a balance of power to the Charger's attack. She's tallied 108 kills on a strong .285 hitting percentage, showing she can score efficiently from either pin. At 5 block solos and 0.4 per set, her high reach makes her a real presence at the net. She makes an impact backrow as well, with 37 digs. Mordi's combination of size, skill, and a lefty swing, makes her a tough matchup for any defense. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">With the seventh pick of this week's rotation:</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Arends is the steady anchor of Niwot's backrow, already racking up 151 digs at 4.6 a set. Calm and composed, she consistently covers her hitters, giving them the confidence to swing aggressively. Always alert and vocal, Arends not only keeps rallies alive but also brings a sense of control and confidence that elevates the entire court. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Power 7 of the Week</h2>   <p>From the net to the back row, this group of seven stands out for more than just stats- they bring presence, poise, and impact at every spot on the floor. Each one of them set a standard for what it takes to compete at a high level this season.</p>   <p></p>
