GHSA 4A State Tournament Predictions: The Contenders

Class 4A is loaded with heavyweights heading into the postseason. Union Grove, Marist, Blessed Trinity, Allatoona, and North Oconee all boast the records, talent, and depth to contend for the state championship. What makes these programs so dangerous is their mix of experienced seniors and rising underclassmen who are stepping into leadership roles at the right time.   Here are six underclassmen to watch:    Sydney has the kind of athleticism and versatility that every contender needs. She's strong at the net, closing blocks with precision, but also quick enough to transition into attack. What sets her apart is her ability to make impact plays in momentum swings — Union Grove will lean on her physicality in tight postseason matches. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast     Mckenzie is a steady scorer who gives Union Grove balance on the outside. She plays with poise, rarely forcing shots, and has the patience to wear down tough defenses. Her court presence adds confidence to a lineup that already plays with a championship mentality. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast     Hayes is a six-rotation outside with a heavy arm and strong serving presence. She can score from anywhere on the court and plays with the energy that rallies her teammates. For Marist, she's the kind of player who can take over a set with her mix of power and consistency. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast     Gilmore brings explosiveness to the Titans' offense. She plays fearless on the left pin, taking aggressive swings even against size. Beyond her attacking, she has the competitive fire that defines Blessed Trinity's tradition — expect her to be a go-to name in crunch time. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast     Ella anchors the front row with her presence at the net. She reads hitters well, closes blocks efficiently, and uses her length to frustrate opposing offenses. She brings energy to the floor, mixing hard swings with smart shot selection, and her consistency keeps the Titans' offense rolling. Blessed Trinity has the pedigree, Allatoona brings volume wins and size, and North Oconee plays with firepower and energy. This is the deepest field in 4A in years, and with underclassmen like these stepping up, the road to the championship is wide open.
