MN Small Town Gems having Big Prep Seasons

There is a vast amount of volleyball talent outside of the metro areas. Some of these small town players are leading the stat charts not only for the their schools but also in the state. Below are a few small town gems that are having stellar high school seasons. Almost half way through the season, we anticipate these players to continue to shine and be on top of the leader boards from here on out. I have been fortunate to see Vogel play a few times during the club season. She always impresses out of the middle. She is quick footed, smart, and can deliver lethal shots to every section of the court. Fast forward to high school...where not only is she leading her team in kills, but she is also one of the top attackers in the state with 99 kills on the season. While all that is impressive, I was even more impressed that when I watched her team against [program_tooltip program_id='430361' first='Cannon' last='Falls'], I saw her serve receiving and playing defense out off middle back. Definity a versatile player that has worked hard on every aspect of the game.     Not a shock by any stretch of the imagination, but 6'0" [player_tooltip player_id='227878' first='Kaydence' last='White'] is on the top of the leaderboard in the state of Minnesota for attackers with 173 kills and hitting .306 on the season. This D2 commit to the University of Concordia St Paul blasted 29 kills in a recent win over Warroad. White normally dominates out of the middle, however, she can also be seen taking big swings and terminating from the outside and rightside pins as well. Essentially, White is hard to stop when the ball is sent her way.     Barten is a 2026 libero playing out of middle back for Paynesville Area High School that has racked up an incredible 197 digs on the season so far along with 15 assists and 12 aces. Barten reads the attackers well, moves swiftly from endline to endline, and positions herself in just the right spot to pick up numerous attacks and rolls. She is never stationary but is very disciplined and constantly moving in tandem with the play.     Hepola is a 2026, UW-Stout commit that has been creating waves in the volleyball scene for several years. I remember a couple of years ago when she was only a sophomore that she reached her 2000 assist in the postseason in Rochester. While she has still been racking up assists, Hepola has transitioned into one of the roles on the team where she has been asked to do more than set, and she delivers. This year, the well-rounded Hepola already has 64 kills, 115 assists, 36 aces and 77 digs.         Storkamp is a 2027 setter from the Foley area that already has a whopping 346 assists on the year, averaging 9.4 assists per set. Watching her play, I think she does an excellent job getting her feet to the ball and delivering clean, consistent sets to her attackers, setting each up for success. Where Storkamp really excels is in her ability to spread the ball around and get all of her attackers involved. Instead of relying on 1 hitter alone to get the job done, Storkamp has 5 attackers average almost 2/kill per set or more.
