Rising Roster: Sauk Rapids-Rice Junior Varsity Standouts

The Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm JV roster is full of young talent. As their varsity team is losing 7 seniors after this season, 6 of whom are consistently on the court, their roster will change greatly next season. Below are the junior varsity standouts to watch for on the floor.    Brenny is quick and skilled as a middle blocker. She has a fast approach and strong swing with the ability to place the ball around the defense. Brenny has strong communication with her setter and other teammates during plays. She is sneaky when tipping, catching the defense on their heels. Brenny runs multiple routes to tire out the opposing team. Defensively, she can read her hitters and effectively place her block to stop them or slow them down. She is a strong jump float server that scores points for her team.     Eggert is an all around skilled player. In the front row she has a quick approach and a fast swing. She is able to put the ball down when needed and reads the defense well. Eggert has a killer line shot and sharp cross making it hard for the opposing team to defend. She is quick to transition of the net and adjust well to where the ball is set. She has a strong approach and sing on the right side as well, placing the ball cross or down the line. Defensively, she is always ready to block and cover hitters. In the back row, she has tremendous ball control and uses her platform well. Eggert has strong communication and hustle on the court and is always cheering on her teammates.     Wolfe has amazing hustle and court awareness as a setter. She always tries to get her hands on the ball to make quick plays. She is great at moving around her hitters and communicating routes. Wolfe can push an out of system ball to the outside to give her offense a chance to get a strong swing on the ball. Her IQ as a setter is strong as she uses past plays to determine routes and who to set to catch the opposing team's defense off guard. She is fast and sneaky with her dumps, scoring multiple points.     Warzecha has great blocking footwork that allows her to move quickly and set a block flawlessly. She is loud on the court and has great communication with her teammates. Warzecha has a fast approach and hard swing placing the ball down the line or sneakily roll-shotting it to the middle of the court. She makes the opposing team's defense work hard. She has strong defensive passing technique and is able to read the hitter to place herself in the best position to defend the court.     Dilley is quick to transition of the net and put herself in a position to an option defensively and offensively. She has a fast approach and loud communication so her setter knows where she is. Her ability to tip to the campfire and throw to deep corners keeps the opposing team's defense on their toes. Dilley is great at reading plays and setting up her block to get multiple stops and touches.
