The 2025 season is really in full swing now and we are starting to get a feel for the teams and players that are going to make the biggest impact this fall.

Here's a look at 10 players that have put together some notable performances recently and throughout the early season.

[player_tooltip player_id='587564' first='Lexi' last='Coleman'], Fr. OH South Lyon East

We've touched on Coleman during the opening weekend, but she's only getting better. The freshman has put down nearly 300 kills in 53 sets of play while hitting an impressive .383. Coleman has had five matches with at least 20 kills this fall and she's showing strong defensive play with 118 digs.

[player_tooltip player_id='828524' first='Emma' last='Eldred'], Sr. OH Tecumseh

It should be no surprise to see Eldred playing at a high level. She led Tecumseh to Kellogg Arena last fall and has the Indians looking like a title contender again in 2025. Eldred is a kill and dig machine that has produced five double-digit kill performances in recent weeks. That includes an 18-kill performance in a win over Stoney Creek this past weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='812023' first='Brynn' last='Johnson'], Fr. OH Marshall

The 2025 kill race in Michigan could end up coming down to freshman when you look at the production of Coleman and Johnson. This freshman already has 332 kills on the year for Marshall to go along with an eye-popping 208 digs and 37 aces. Johnson topped the 30-kill mark this season in a five-set battle with Lakeview, and already has 18 double-digit kill performances in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='791537' first='Amaya' last='Lathrop'], Sr. DS/L Newaygo

Lathrop recently surpassed 1,000 career digs and she's among the state leaders this fall with 272 through 52 sets of play. She's averaging over 5 digs per set, and already has two matches with at least 30 digs. That includes a 31-dig performance last week in a four-set win over Big Rapids.

[player_tooltip player_id='731427' first='Mazzey' last='McDonald'], Fr. DS Beal City

When looking for some future stars out of the Class of 2029, keep an eye on [player_tooltip player_id='731427' first='Mazzey' last='McDonald'] at Beal City. The freshman is having a big impact for the Aggies, who are rolling right now. She can quickly rack up the digs and has a fierce serve to pile up aces. There's a high ceiling for McDonald.

[player_tooltip player_id='569767' first='Quinn' last='Nelson'], So. OH Marian

Nelson is a name that has emerged for Marian, one of the top teams in the state. Having to sit out her freshman season, Nelson is now making the most of her opportunities as a sophomore. She leads the Mustangs with 195 kills while hitting .326. She's also got 117 digs and 44 aces. Last week, Nelson had a season-high 23 kills in a high-profile match with Mercy.

[player_tooltip player_id='815540' first='Kyria' last='Pairolero'], Jr. MH/RS Bath

The 6'3” Pairolero is making a name for herself as one of the top blockers in the state. This fall, she is averaging over a block a set with 49 through 41 sets of play. She's got a great reach at the net and has used it effectively with her blocker, or her attacks. Pairolero also has 83 kills on the season while hitting an impressive .405.

[player_tooltip player_id='371873' first='Brooke' last='Steeves'], Sr. S Mattawan

Mattawan hasn't been shying away from top competition and it's led to some losses, but is bringing out the best in their players. That includes Steeves. She's got 377 assists this fall through 44 sets. Her 8.6 assists-per-set average is near the best in the state. Steeves also has contributed 70 digs for Mattawan.

[player_tooltip player_id='699957' first='Brynn' last='Swetz'], Jr. MH/RS Vicksburg

Vicksburg has been piling up the wins this season and Swetz has definitely been a difference maker. The 6-footer is already setting career highs for herself in 2025. She's got 169 kills, but is also stepping up defensively and from the service line. Swetz has 74 digs, 41 aces and 31 blocks. Keep an eye on Swetz, she's definitely have a breakout season.

[player_tooltip player_id='456251' first='Alexa' last='Turner'], Jr. S/RS SMCC

The Kestrels continue to be one of the best programs in the state and a top contender in D3. Turner is having a great year in an enhanced role. Turner is leading the team in assists and digs, and among the leaders in aces and blocks. She's contributing in every phase with 216 assists, 87 digs, 29 kills, 20 aces, and 19 blocks.
