Winning this event goes a long way to help propel teams toward a deep postseason run and gives us a better feel for which teams are title contenders, and which are title pretenders.

While the top seeds all seem capable of running the table, there's a few No. 2 seeds to watch out for. Dexter has been playing really well this fall and eager to prove itself. The Dreadnaughts should come in as motivated as anyone. Northville could be getting overlooked as the defending champs. The Mustangs graduated a lot, but they still have success built into the program. Brighton is a team with a lot of depth and is battle-tested. That could come in handy this weekend.

Who Will Win?

It's not easy making a pick here, as you don't know how the bracket will ultimately work out. But, I feel like this is going to come down to either Rockford or Mercy. The Rams have been playing a lot of tough teams and have just one blemish this year. Mercy never shies away from a big match and just had a real gutsy win over Marian in five sets this week. Both teams have great depth and all-around play, which is why they are two of the best in the state. Rockford already has a win over Mercy, so I can't pick against the Rams. This feels like it could be their year to take the crown.
