But for these players, getting to play with your sister proves to be a secret recipe for success! This 2025 fall season, we're seeing the sister effect in full action from around the state.

For some of these sister duos, they're only getting started, for others, it is the end of a line. Nonetheless though, the storyline attached to these players is a lot of fun. Let's take a look at some of the best sister duos in Michigan!

[player_tooltip player_id='569773' first='Skylar' last='Ignash'] and [player_tooltip player_id='787391' first='Karsyn' last='Ignash'] - Cass City

These two come in to the Red Hawk program after their older sister, Shelby Ignash lit up the courts the last four years. While only playing one year with a sister, these two get the next three years with one another. And this is music to Cass City's ears.

[player_tooltip player_id='569773' first='Skylar' last='Ignash'] and [player_tooltip player_id='787391' first='Karsyn' last='Ignash'] are a pair that you don't want to see across the net. While one is ripping shots from the left side, the other one is becoming a blocking machine. If one doesn't kill you, the other will. Despite the youngest, Karsyn, having to sit the remainder of the season due to minor injury, the two have combined for big numbers. Together they put up nearly 700 kills on the season to go with 100+ blocks and 500+ digs.

[player_tooltip player_id='523905' first='Madisyn' last='Bowman'] and [player_tooltip player_id='587016' first='Lillian' last='Bowman'] - Plymouth Christian

Much like their Division 3 counterparts with the Ignash sisters, the Bowman girls are an outside and middle combination that is not made for the weak! [player_tooltip player_id='523905' first='Madisyn' last='Bowman'] holds things down in the middle, with [player_tooltip player_id='587016' first='Lillian' last='Bowman'] evolving into a top level six rotation outside. And these two are just getting things started for this family.

While the numbers aren't clear for this 1-2 punch, let it be perfectly clear, the Bowman's pack punches. The two bring some of the heaviest swings you'll see in Division 3 and they aren't afraid to go for the big play. It's this fearless nature that could bode well for Plymouth Christian squad with high hopes to bulldoze into a long awaited state title run.

[player_tooltip player_id='226896' first='Madison' last='Geer'] and [player_tooltip player_id='850401' first='Avery' last='Geer'] - Frankenmuth

The Geer sisters are only here for one season, so jump in the stands and watch them in action. They are worth the live viewership. These two players are high energy and full of fire on the court.

And how fun is it to see the baby sister of the family get to set her big sister in her senior year? [player_tooltip player_id='850401' first='Avery' last='Geer'], the youngest of three, has become Frankenmuth's QB1, running the show. Her demeanor is unlike any freshman you'll find in the state, full of fire and full of grit. Her favorite weapon is [player_tooltip player_id='226896' first='Madison' last='Geer'], the middle child of the trio, who is closing in an illustrious career as an Eagle.

[player_tooltip player_id='226888' first='Aubree' last='Deshetsky'] and Alysse Deshetsky - North Branch

By the time all is said and done, the Deshetsky name will be plastered throughout the North Branch Volleyball history books. For good reason, the family has been a part of the program for over 10 years now! With freshman outside, Alysse Deshetsky, she'll end the line of great volleyball talent from the family. But for this last year, we'll see two together on the court. Nothing an opponent is hoping to hear.

For Alyssa and [player_tooltip player_id='226888' first='Aubree' last='Deshetsky'], the pair have done significant damage together over the course of these few months. Combining for 800 kills and 400 digs, when one isn't sending bullets, the other is digging up the defense. It's nonstop pressure from these two sisters.

[player_tooltip player_id='226909' first='Kayla' last='Nwabueze'] and [player_tooltip player_id='768151' first='Emily' last='Nwabueze'] - Bloomfield Hills

It is probably for everyone's best interests, who aren't affiliated with Bloomfield Hills, that [player_tooltip player_id='226909' first='Kayla' last='Nwabueze'] and [player_tooltip player_id='768151' first='Emily' last='Nwabueze'] are only together for one year. This dynamic combo would bring total domination. They already are.

In her last season as Bloomfield Hills shining star, Kayla is bookending one heckuva career. Eclipsing 2,000 career kills this fall, no matter where you put her, she is a scoring machine. And be warned, younger sister, Emily, is taking notes. Emily is getting out to a hot start and already has amassed 200 kills in her early career.

[player_tooltip player_id='470031' first='Avery' last='Kapeller'] and [player_tooltip player_id='470701' first='Zoey' last='Kapeller'] - Orchard Lake St. Mary

For all of the players we've mentioned so far, none of them are going to have the joys of playing either their sister for all four years. But this next duo will. The twin duo of [player_tooltip player_id='470031' first='Avery' last='Kapeller'] and [player_tooltip player_id='470701' first='Zoey' last='Kapeller'] are making quite the mark in their junior seasons together on the court.

While Avery takes care of the offense, Zoey heads up the defense. It is the perfect ying to the yang at Orchard Lake St. Mary's. Avery is the teams leader in kills with nearly 400 while Zoey leads in digs with 260, the two combine for 100 aces on the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='643759' first='Laynie' last='Russell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='591756' first='Maddie' last='Russell'] - Mona Shores

There's not just one twin powerhouse in the state, look no further than the Russell twins over at Mona Shores. It's the line up as good as gold in this article, the outside/middle combination just goes way too hard!

For [player_tooltip player_id='643759' first='Laynie' last='Russell'], she has become one of the top formidable forces in the state for middle blockers. On the pins, [player_tooltip player_id='591756' first='Maddie' last='Russell'] brings one heavy arm and a stout block to at the net as well
