The Nevada stop of the PrepDig Exposure Tour brought big energy to the courts, and one athlete rose above the pace and pressure with maturity well beyond her years:
Alexys Willis

, a 5'5 libero/setter from Oklahoma who graduates in 2030. She attends Heritage Hall with a 4.0 GPA and plays club for Oklahoma Peak Volleyball.

Alexys was selected as the Avoli Committed Athlete for her leadership, communication, and ability to elevate every player around her. Her presence anchored each court she stepped onto, her volleyball IQ showed up in every rep, and her positivity helped shape the environment of the entire showcase.
What set her apart wasn't just skill. It was intentionality, emotional maturity, and how she chose to show up for the athletes beside her.
Leadership
Alexys showed leadership from the very start. She studied her court group, learned their strengths, and adapted her communication to help everyone settle in. She explained that during warmups she made it a priority to watch every athlete so she could understand who needed direction and who naturally stepped into leadership roles.
“I paid attention to each girl's strengths and weaknesses. I switched courts during queens so I could watch and play with everyone. I learned who the leaders were and who was more passive so I knew when to take charge or when to target someone as an opponent.”
On the court she organized rotations, directed spacing, and gave her hitters clear information. She made sure her setters trusted her, her back row stayed disciplined, and her teammates knew what she was covering on every play.
“When I was back row I made sure they knew I had all sets out. When I hit I let my setters know I was available early. When I set I gave each person the best ball for their ability and reminded them to swing high and hard because I would cover.”
Her leadership was steady, thoughtful, and intentional. She played with purpose and helped everyone around her play with more confidence.
Sportsmanship
The environment in Nevada was competitive, yet Alexys made sure the athletes around her felt included and supported. She arrived early and immediately started introducing herself to others so no one felt nervous walking into the gym.
“I wanted to go above and beyond to greet girls as they arrived so they would not be nervous and knew they could have fun. I made sure to set the bar for getting to know others and invited people to join me on the court to get started.”
Her encouragement carried through every drill. She celebrated effort, not just the outcome, and showed genuine respect for the athletes on the opposite side of the net.

“I got blocked two times. I cover saved both but told my opponent great job on the block because she made a great play.”
Even from the sideline she kept her voice strong, calling out blockers, reads, and cues to help the active group succeed. Her sportsmanship reflected who she is as a teammate and as a person. She lifts others up and creates a positive, competitive environment no matter where she plays.
Work Ethic
Fast paced reps are where Alexys thrives. She never walked between drills, stayed vocal through every rotation, and pushed herself to maintain tempo when the gym sped up.
“Fast paced reps are my jam. I made sure I never walked and never showed I was tired so my team would follow.”
Her mindset is grounded in preparation and staying one play ahead. She worked to reset her team after every rally and focused on the small details that keep plays in system.
“My mind is always one play ahead so I can help my team reset and have a good strategy. If my passes are perfect my sets are smooth. If my approach is clean I swing hard with control and purpose.”
Alexys leads by example. She competes with confidence, embraces pressure, and brings a steady presence to any lineup.
“For my team and coaches to know I am never intimidated or nervous and that they can count on me in any situation is the most important thing to me.”
Her work ethic and mindset were unmistakable throughout the Nevada Exposure Tour. She showed the qualities that translate to long term growth, strong team culture, and a high ceiling as she continues to develop her game.

Alexys embodies everything the Avoli Committed Athlete represents. She works hard, treats people well, and shows up for her teammates in ways that make a real impact. Her leadership is authentic and her volleyball IQ is advanced for her age, and she carries herself with the spirit and work ethic of an athlete who will continue to rise.
Congratulations to Alexys on being named the Avoli Committed Athlete for the Nevada stop of the PrepDig Exposure Tour.
