And you know what that means, we have crowned all 128 District Champions across the state of Michigan. It didn't come without a shortage of surprises, upsets and headlines. We were REALLY treated well this last week of postseason competition.

The Division 1 space was chock full of epic match ups that left those around the state stunned. Division 2 was another hot division full of big performances as well. Division 3 and 4 were a bit on the quieter side, but no need to worry, those headlines and surprise results are impending with the next week and a half to come!

Take a look below at some of biggest matches that took place in Division 1 and every other district final result throughout the four divisions below!

Major Wins in Division 1

Romeo Upsets No. 7 Utica Eisenhower in a Reverse Sweep

[player_tooltip player_id='442978' first='Eleanor' last='Williams']

This may be one of the biggest shocks heard throughout the entire state. How did Utica Eisenhower lose? Throughout the entire season, Eisenhower has been one of the premier teams in the state. A well-balanced operating machine, many thought they were coming into these playoffs with a bit of a chip on their shoulder. Last season, the Eagles made their way all the way to the Quarterfinals before losing in a hotly contested match that saw their leading scorer go down mid-match. This seemed to have been the year that Ike would not be denied.

But alas, here comes the conference foe, the Romeo Bulldogs. May they be down, but they were most certainly never out. Romeo would start the match going down 2 sets to none before going on an incredible run to win the next three sets. It even looked as though their magic had run out come the deciding set, starting the race to 15, down five points to none. Not only were the Bulldog's offense supercharged going into the latter half of the match, but they were also aided by some questionable decisions on the Ike's side.

It was quite the head scratcher. The Eagle's game plan went totally sideways. After winning the first two sets with a line up that everyone has become accustomed to, Ike opted to forego the usage of subs, leaving out two critical pieces to their puzzle in the back court. Nonetheless, despite this move, Romeo was locked in and wasn't leaving the gym without a wooden mitten.

[player_tooltip player_id='442978' first='Eleanor' last='Williams'] had the eye of the tiger (or should I say dog?) throughout the entire match. She lodged in 17 kills on the night and was critical behind the service line. Down 6-9 in the fifth set, Romeo sides out to bring Williams behind the service line, and she would go on to serve the rest of the match. Behind a trio of aces, Williams served an incredible 8-0 run to cap the match and upset Eisenhower.

Alongside Williams, stand out performances came from [player_tooltip player_id='490036' first='Emma' last='Rosenow'] who not only logged a near 20 kill performance, but was a big time block at the net with nearly 5 on the match.

Oxford Outlasts HM Clarkston for Historic District Win

[player_tooltip player_id='442971' first='Brenna' last='Mirovsky']

From one upset heard around the world to another, Oxford has done the unthinkable. In an almost 25 year drought, Oxford has brought a district title back to the Wildcat gym. And what better place to do it than in their own gym?

While it maybe wasn't the highest of ranked upsets in the state, it sure was an interesting one. Clarkston is a team that has become quite affiliated with the post-season. They broke through to a Final Four run just two years ago and took Marian, an eventual Final Four squad, to the brink last year in the Regional Semifinals. Behind the play of [player_tooltip player_id='442995' first='Marlie' last='Smith'], it really seemed to have been a done deal.

However, after losing the first set, Oxford found themselves in quite the predicament they had not known before. They were leading the match 2-1 over the powerhouse team. But as soon as you felt things were going to end, Clarkston would storm back to win the fourth set, forcing a deciding set, with a score of 12-25. The giants have awoke and Oxford's upset agenda was thrown out the window. So, we thought.

Leading the way for them is a setter turned libero that then turned into a six rotation outside hitter for the Wildcats this season, Brenna Mirovksy. It's truly the versatility of this player that breaks the barrier, Mirovsky can do so much at such a high level. She led the Wildcat's effort in both kills and digs with nearly 15 apiece.

For Clarkston, it was a valiant effort to say the least. They were led by [player_tooltip player_id='809036' first='Maya' last='Kuebler'] in what was a breakout performance for the junior. She had 17 kills in the match.

No. 9 Hudsonville Survives No. 11 Jenison in Five Set Thriller

[player_tooltip player_id='226882' first='Karis' last='Chatfield']

These are just the matches you hate to see happen at such an early juncture in the tournament. Two teams who're very much some of the best in the state. Both Hudsonville and Jenison have been mainstays within and around the top ten of the MIVCA rankings for the entirety of the fall. And the ending results of this match was evident of just that, they're two of the bests.

Coincidentally, this match looked very similar to the box score of the previous match mentioned, Oxford over Clarkston. Jenison, despite being ranked below Hudsonville, came out swinging strong. I predicted Jenison to pull this one out too. Before long, Hudsonville had the upper hand with a two set to none lead. Behind the power of [player_tooltip player_id='226882' first='Karis' last='Chatfield'], Jenison responded with a dominant fourth set, 12-25 victory. Hudsonville had the benefit of some rotational matchups in the fifth that kept the Wildcat superstar, Chatfield in the back court for the bulk of the fifth set. Propelled by a balanced attack, the Eagles took it in the decider by a 15-10 decision.

It is maybe what makes Hudsonville so deadly, but they are one of the more balanced teams you'll come across in all divisions. In this one, the Eagles were one kill shy from having four players in double-digit kills. Comparatively, Jenison had one player. One of the biggest standouts came from the middle with [player_tooltip player_id='827359' first='Megan' last='Glass']. She not only led the team in kills with 12, matching [player_tooltip player_id='806307' first='Leah' last='Burlison'], but she also tabbed on four blocks. Her net presence on both ends were felt extremely well. It allowed for Hudsonville to also out defend Jenison with So. Libero, [player_tooltip player_id='887795' first='Emmy' last='Poll'] having her sixth 20+ dig night.

Jenison was led by their Miss Volleyball nominee, Chatfield, with 19 kills and 13 digs. [player_tooltip player_id='464378' first='Ava' last='Bush-Nelson'] aided the efforts with 8 kills and 4 blocks of her own.

No. 2 Bloomfield Hills Upends No. 4 Marian's 10 Year Streak of District Domination

[player_tooltip player_id='226909' first='Kayla' last='Nwabueze']

It was the match that you truly hated to see take place. One hand, you had the utter domination of the Marian Mustangs, who doesn't love a program that can maintain such a hold on the game for so long? But on the other hand, you had a team in Bloomfield Hills that has for years been bubbling under the surface and just never quite able to make it over due to regional confinements. We have one of those matches every postseason that just takes place way too early, this one deserved the lights and stage of Kellogg Arena.

While despite being such an important match up, so early on in the tournament, it is definitely one that did NOT disappoint. It was a slugfest from both sides of the court. Where Marian has its depth and ability to spread the offense, Bloomfield Hills has their magnum opus in [player_tooltip player_id='226909' first='Kayla' last='Nwabueze'] that just tore that place apart!

Defensively, the Black Hawks were a very well-oiled machine. There was no ball that was to score on their side without some sort of pursuit, putting Marian in situations they hadn't seen too often throughout the season. Offensively, however, it was the Nwabueze show. Putting up 28 kills on the match, [player_tooltip player_id='226909' first='Kayla' last='Nwabueze'] made up for over 50% of her team's offense. Comparatively to Marian's offensive output, Nwabueze was able to outpace both of the Mustang's leading scorers combined! She then tacked on 20 digs on the night, one shy of leading in that category as well.

For Marian, it was not without a valiant effort, as they had the lead early on, but just could not find a way to contain the beast. [player_tooltip player_id='436889' first='Sophia' last='Smith'] led the charge with 16 kills on a .350 clip and added 9 digs. [player_tooltip player_id='828552' first='Cecilia' last='Murray'] was also very strong to begin the match as well with 6 kills and 2 blocks through the opening two sets.

D1 Results

Detroit Cass Tech sweeps Detroit Martin Luther King 3-0

Trenton Sweeps New Boston Huron 3-0

Allen Park Dismantles Lincoln Park 3-0

Livonia Franklin downs Wayne Memorial 3-0

South Lyon pushes past South Lyon East 3-2

Brighton over Milford 3-1

Orchard Lake St. Mary's over North Farmington 3-1

Mercy Takes Out Livonia Stevenson 3-0

Battle Creek Lakeview Outlasts Portage Central 3-1

Caledonia edges out Plainwell 3-2

Byron Center Sweeps Zeeland East 3-0

Mattawan topples St. Joseph 3-0

Saline Ousts Conference Foe Bedford 3-1

Ann Arbor Skyline surges past Dexter 3-1

Dewitt over Grand Ledge 3-0

Mason surpassed Okemos 3-0

Grosse Pointe South Sweeps Detroit Renaissance 3-0

Birmingham Groves downs Berkley 3-0

St. Clair Shores Lakeview takes down Warren Woods Towers 3-1

Clinton Township Chippewa Valley over Utica 3-1

Macomb Dakota Reverse Sweeps L'Anse Creuse North 3-2

Traverse City Central Topples TC West in 3-0

Cadillac Takes Down Mt.
