–

It may be one of the best things that come out of the postseason. When everything is on the line, you're playing to keep your season alive and fight for a championship, THIS is where the stars come out.

We've made it past week one, district champions have been crowned and things are beginning to get real. The Round of 32, the Regional Semifinal, did not disappoint. In terms of excitement, breakout performances, upsets, Tuesday's matches had it all and across all of the divisions.

In case you missed hearing about some of the biggest performers, here is your fix! This is 14 of the best performers from across the state in the Round of 32! One more game left until we crown the regional champions and these players are leading the way!

[player_tooltip player_id='458372' first='Jeana' last='Lenhard'] - Essexville Garber

There was some question surrounding Essexville Garber going into the postseason. For a chunk of the latter portion of the regular season, their star ace, [player_tooltip player_id='458372' first='Jeana' last='Lenhard'] was absent from the hardwood due to injury. Nothing major, but still one has to wonder if she would be able to perform, let alone play. Well, needless to say, Lenhard has come back better than ever and continues to be one of the premier players when it comes to postseason.

In just three sets, Lenhard dominated the competition on Tuesday against Alma. Averaging just shy of 10 KILLS PER SET, Lenhard pocketed 28 kills along with 24 digs in the dominating matchup. It was maybe the perfect time for the Duke to reset and recharge as Garber looks to be a favorite for a return trip to Kellogg Arena.

[player_tooltip player_id='226909' first='Kayla' last='Nwabueze'] - Bloomfield Hills

2025 has been the year of [player_tooltip player_id='226909' first='Kayla' last='Nwabueze']. She absolutely controlled the district series last week, upending the perennial powers of Marian. Bad news for those to come, Nwabueze is just getting better. In another shut down sweep, Bloomfield Hills flew past the competition of Grosse Point South. Like in the district championship, Nwabueze is the driving force for the Black Hawks. In a wicked .556 efficiency, the Harvard bound attacker took down 23 kills, adding to her already impressive 650 kill season total.

[player_tooltip player_id='709559' first='Kaelyn' last='Easton'] - Mercy

Fresh off of the gold medal winning performance at the u17 NORCECA Championships in Costa Rica, [player_tooltip player_id='709559' first='Kaelyn' last='Easton'] has returned to the Marlins with what seems like an extra oomph in her game. While Mercy was a heavy favorite in this match, it was the eye popping scores that stood out. Behind the 30 assists from Easton, the Marlins were able to limit Orchard Lake St. Mary to an average set score of 25-13! One of those being held to a single digit result!

[player_tooltip player_id='442971' first='Brenna' last='Mirovsky'] - Oxford

Oxford just keeps on going. When you make history in the way the Wildcats have, you just have to keep it going! In their third straight five set victory in the postseason, [player_tooltip player_id='442971' first='Brenna' last='Mirovsky'] continues to showcase her ability to lead this team in so many ways. In a career high night, Mirovsky dismantled Chippewa Valley with 20 kills. Oxford is set up for a clash with another upset savvy crew in Romeo, and if both of these team's postseasons are of ANY indication, we are hopefully in for one heck of a match.

[player_tooltip player_id='456516' first='Kennedy' last='Duncan'] - South Lyon

Going into the night, it was heavily expected that South Lyon's season would come to a close against a tough Brighton team. After losing the opening two sets, it was looking to be a quick exit, too. However, in what many would call the upset of the night, South Lyon prevailed and pulled off the illusive reverse sweep.

Behind their star outside, [player_tooltip player_id='456516' first='Kennedy' last='Duncan'] was able to rise above in the biggest of moments for the Lions. In a 16 kill outing, Duncan was able to lead an otherwise balanced output. It was in the toughest moments where her play shined to overtake the Bulldogs.

[player_tooltip player_id='442976' first='Cynthia' last='Ockerman'] - Brighton

Despite the result no one wishes to see, there is one bright star to highlight here. [player_tooltip player_id='442976' first='Cynthia' last='Ockerman']. It is not everyday you have a middle that has such a dominating match as she did and still come up short. In the valiant effort, Ockerman tee'd off an incredible 20 kills to lead all scorers.

[player_tooltip player_id='741882' first='Georgia' last='Addleman'] - Parma Western

This rookie is going to be such a bright star for Parma Western for years to come. Just sit back and watch. [player_tooltip player_id='741882' first='Georgia' last='Addleman'] is a player we haven't talked about nearly enough this season. But I have a feeling we won't be shutting up about her very soon.

In a barn burner match against fellow spoiler-queens, Niles, Addleman came up huge. The setter/opposite combo can just do it all. She led her team in kills with 13 and added nearly 20 assists on the match. What was most impressive though was those blocks! With SEVEN blocks in the match, Addleman nearly found herself in rare territory, a TRIPLE-double.

[player_tooltip player_id='809813' first='Mya' last='Hemmer'] - Ispheming

[player_tooltip player_id='809813' first='Mya' last='Hemmer'] is a once in a generation type talent to come out of the UP. It's not everyday you find an athlete of her size, let alone her caliber. The Baylor commit is looking to make her mark even further and lead Ispheming to unprecedented heights, a trip to Battle Creek. With this win, they come one step closer than they have ever before. Hemmer was able to knock down 13 kills at an alarming pace in the sweep over Hancock.

[player_tooltip player_id='226895' first='Jillian' last='Ferrill'] - Lake Fenton

If you would've asked me a week ago, what this match would've entailed, I would've expected a much more of a back and forth affair. But it simply doesn't get more one sided than this, and a lot of that is thanks to [player_tooltip player_id='226895' first='Jillian' last='Ferrill']. In a complete flow state, there was seemingly nothing Frankenmuth could do to contain, let alone stop Ferrill from scoring. In a sweeping result, Ferrill clocked in 20 kills on an abhorrent .556 clip to advance to the Sweet 16.

[player_tooltip player_id='569773' first='Skylar' last='Ignash'] - Cass City

In her new found role on the outside, [player_tooltip player_id='569773' first='Skylar' last='Ignash'] has become quite accustomed to taking on a heavy load on the pin. Needless to say though, it warrants it, she is becoming one of the premier attackers in the state. Who else do you give the ball too when you're in reverse sweep territory too? Cass City, almost fell victim to the same fate as Brighton in Division 1. But behind the power of Ignash's 24 kills, the Hawks were able to halt the impending LakeVille agenda.

[player_tooltip player_id='226887' first='Izzie' last='Delacher'] - Rockford

Being on hand personally for Tuesday's match between Rockford and Hudsonville, one word to define the Rams' game is unrelenting! This offense just throws bomb after bomb after bomb at their opponents. While as flashy as those killers are, it wouldn't be possible without [player_tooltip player_id='226887' first='Izzie' last='Delacher'] at setter. This is a player that I have found to have really come into her own this season. This match was pure evidence of that. In a three set win over the Eagles, Delacher paced Rockford to an incredible .387 hitting percentage behind 42 assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='839917' first='Sarah' last='Giroux'] - Flat Rock

Flat Rock doesn't get enough showcase for how much of a dark horse they are in this season in the Division 2 race. But, I see it, and I am telling you now, they aren't a team to take lightly when they step on court. A big reason of that? [player_tooltip player_id='839917' first='Sarah' last='Giroux']. Her calm demeanor makers her very unassuming, but don't be fooled, because she will get you! We predicted here on Prep Dig that Flat Rock would fall in this round, but behind the play of 19 kills and 13 digs from Giroux, St. Catherine simply couldn't catch their breath.

[player_tooltip player_id='226888' first='Aubree' last='Deshetsky'] - North Branch

Across analysis of the last two seasons, it is safe to say that there is just no stopping [player_tooltip player_id='226888' first='Aubree' last='Deshetsky'] when it comes to the big moments. Fresh off of the announcement of Deshetsky becoming North Branch's newest record holder in career kills, this player is making sure that the record will uphold for years and years to come. When you casually take care of 31 kills in a four set match, the gap widens pretty quickly. Who better to have such a highlight night than against your historic rival, Notre Dame Prep?

[player_tooltip player_id='833201' first='Jenna' last='Middleton'] - Kingsley

South Lyon over Brighton was quite the shock to many. But let it be known, no upset was bigger on Tuesday than that of Kingsley sweeping the No. 1 team in Division 3, Roscommon. The Bucks looked to be untouchable entering the postseason. No one in their path looked quite apt to challenge them, let alone take the down. But [player_tooltip player_id='833201' first='Jenna' last='Middleton'] and Kingsley had a much different idea.

Middleton absolutely dismantled Roscommon from all sorts of angles. Behind a double-double night, Middleton brought down 20 kills at an unstoppable pace and showed off her complete game with 16 digs as well. If this match has any indication, Kingsley may play one of the biggest spoiler stories in quite sometime. Think back to Reese in 2021, are we looking at a very similar story?
