We're rounding out the year, and the recruiting out of the state of Michigan has been so much fun to watch!

The 2027 class was the talk of the town this year, as Michigan continues to upgrade in talent, skill and depth of players competing throughout the state. The 2027 group was one to watch. With that being said, so many 2026s were still up for grabs and have found their home this year. 2026 right around the corner, we shall be seeing much more announcements roll in.

Commitments flying left and right, it was hard to keep up with who was going where. No need to worry though, because we have you covered. Let's take a look at another addition of Commitment Catch-Up.

[player_tooltip player_id='523833' first='Tessa' last='Boomhour'] to Bryant University

6'0 MB - Dexter/L2

Dexter had one its best years in program history and a big reason for that was [player_tooltip player_id='523833' first='Tessa' last='Boomhour']! In the middle, Boomhour was an incredible presence to contend with. She had herself a career high season in both blocks and kills, hitting for an exceptional rate of .343. She is just getting better and will look to continue that at Bryant University!

Bryant University is a Division 1 program out of the American East Conference! This is a program on the rise as the Bulldogs found themselves atop of the conference for the first time ever since joining the AEC. With a pick up like Boomhour, they're hoping to continue improving upon their recent successes with her rise in potential.

[player_tooltip player_id='462086' first='Mallory' last='Woiteshek'] to Michigan State

6'4 OH/OPP - Grand Haven

This may be one of the biggest commitment announcements of the year! [player_tooltip player_id='462086' first='Mallory' last='Woiteshek'] is not only one of the best volleyball players in the state currently, but she is also one of the best basketball players AND soccer players! A highly touted prospect in all three sports, Woiteshek truly had the world at her fingertips in terms of collegiate athletics! But alas, after a few tips from former MSU head coach Cathey George, Woiteshek's volleyball talents have landed in front Michigan State's current coaching staff and the rest is history.

Woiteshek is coming off of yet again another incredible season with Grand Haven. The 6'4 outside hitter was a state leader in kills with over 540, her third season in a row amassing over 500 kills! Her skills reach far beyond just her sheer physicality though. Woiteshek is an elite back row player that took on over 270 digs and passed a 2.2 this fall. As good as she may be now, Woiteshek is JUST getting started!

[player_tooltip player_id='835290' first='Maddie' last='Landheer'] to University of Olivet

5'8 OH - Grand Rapids Christian/FaR Out

This announcement is coming fresh off of an incredible senior season with Grand Rapids Christian. After their second Final Four run in three years, OH [player_tooltip player_id='835290' first='Maddie' last='Landheer'] announced that she will be taking her talents to the University of Olivet. A program on the hunt for that right player to set the Comets on the right path, Landheer may just be that player.

When it came down to the stretch of the season, this small, but mighty pin attacker was crucial in her high school team's advancement in the state tournament. When watching her against Tecumseh in the Quarterfinals, it was Landheer's play that proved to be the edge needed to outlast the Indians. This kind of grit and game can do wonders for Olivet next fall!

[player_tooltip player_id='790897' first='Abby' last='Pernick'] to Union

5'7 DS/L - Detroit Country Day/Michigan Elite

Speaking of big news announcements after an incredible post season, lets talk about Detroit Country Day's [player_tooltip player_id='790897' first='Abby' last='Pernick']. Fresh off of helping the Yellowjackets win their second consecutive state title, the DS/L announced she will be heading to Union College in upstate New York.

This is a program and recruit that could really do big things together in the next few years. For DCD, Pernick has become a mainstay in the line up acting as the team's go-to DS and leader on the court. For Union, they're coming off of an electric 2025 season themselves, going 22-9 on the season and placing second in the Liberty League.

[player_tooltip player_id='916033' first='Matalyn' last='LaFreniere'] to Kellogg CC

5'11 OH/MB - Manton

This may be a huge get for this junior college program and an even bigger get for any four year program down the line with [player_tooltip player_id='916033' first='Matalyn' last='LaFreniere']. The way this athlete was playing this season, she has some insane potential. I had the treat of catching her in action early on in the season, she is an electric presence on the court. Following her season throughout the fall, LaFreniere did not let up whatsoever!

The options are endless for Kellogg CC in terms of where to use this player. LaFreniere is terminal anywhere on the court. I have seen her smash balls up the middle, on the pins and even through the back court. She's a natural athlete with a lot of attributes it takes to be a key pick up in the portal in the next year or two.
