Practice Coverage From M2 and Ichiban: MB and Liberos

As this practice‑coverage series comes to a close, it felt right to finish where team identity is often defined — the back row and the middle of the court. Liberos and middle blockers don't always get the loudest recognition, but their impact is constant. They stabilize rallies, control communication, and give their teams structure when momentum shifts.   During our time inside M2 and Ichiban gyms, these four athletes stood out for how they held everything together — through effort, awareness, and consistency.    Rumi brings energy and presence into every rep. Her versatility allows her to contribute at the net and on the right side without disrupting flow, and she approaches practice with confidence and openness. Off the court, she's danced for eight years, loves fashion, and shares a birthday with her mom. She's interested in marketing or business, and that creativity shows up in how she plays — expressive, engaged, and competitive. ~ Z.R. Nix @BenchtoBeast     Micabella is steady and reliable in the back row. She tracks the ball well, communicates early, and brings calm to defensive sequences. Her approach makes rallies feel manageable for the players around her. She's involved in FCCLA, FCA, and DECA, and is considering a future in sports marketing, with schools like Nebraska, Seton Hall, and Georgia Tech on her list. Her organization and leadership off the court mirror her discipline defensively. ~ Z.R. Nix @BenchtoBeast     Zuri's effort level is immediate. Coaches described her as a go‑getter, and she backed that up by laying out for balls and staying engaged in every drill. She brings positivity and urgency without forcing the moment. She sings in chorus, loves shopping, speaks French, and values time with friends. That social energy shows up on the court through communication and presence. ~ Z.R. Nix @BenchtoBeast     June plays with poise beyond her age. Coaches noted her determination and composure, and she carried herself confidently in live reps. Her movement is controlled, and she stays connected to the flow of the play. Outside volleyball, she enjoys Formula 1, plays the bass, and sings. That mix of focus and creativity translates into a calm, thoughtful approach at the net. ~ Z.R. Nix @BenchtoBeast    Liberos and middle blockers shape teams in quiet but essential ways. They give coverage, communication, and consistency — often without recognition. Watching these athletes work in practice reinforced why access inside the gym matters.
