This weekend is always the start of the club tournament season. It saw four different divisions, 8 courts and a total of 36 teams all in Tulsa, OK. Most teams use this as a chance to see where their strengths and weakness are early on. Some play an age division or two up to be pushed and prepare for a rigorous schedule ahead. Let's look at how the 17s division finished up and six players who played great for their team this past weekend.

Gold Semis: Virago 16-1 over Virago 17-2 and Charge 17-2 Tulsa over Charge 17-3 Tulsa

Gold Finals: Charge 17-2 over Virago 16-1

Adyson Ramer- Defensive Specialist for Premier 17 Diamonds. Adyson was all over the place and was one of the hardest working players in the gym. Her serve and serve receive consistency definitely was something that stood out. She was a big part of her team's success last weekend. They were just a few points away from being a gold bracket squad.

[player_tooltip player_id='750430' first='Judah' last='Pratt']- Middle Blocker for Virago 16-1. She may have been the single most dominant player in the entire 17s division. She hit a .340 for the entire tournament. She has the size, the drive to be better and the IQ to be a top tier middle blocker.

[player_tooltip player_id='741359' first='Paisley' last='Leyva']- Defensive Specialist for Charge 17-2. Paisley and her teammate did some switching of who was the Libero but no matter the position she was in, she was helping her team. She is a very vocal presence for the defense and isn't scared to get in the mix and make plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='750116' first='Adilynn' last='McMahan']- Defensive Specialist for Virago 17-2. Addy and company had multiple super tight sets that will help them long term. She did an excellent job in serve receive and made some solid in transition digs. This club season and upcoming school season will be pivotal in her ability to play in college.

[player_tooltip player_id='738187' first='Brylee' last='Hancock']- Defensive Specialist for Charge 17-3. She was continuing to be served at all tournament long and she proved why that was a bad decision over and over. She was a steady rock for her Charge team all tournament long. She was also hitting some on the outside to help out when needed.

[player_tooltip player_id='752820' first='Autumn' last='Brennan']- Middle Blocker for Charge 17-2. Autumn showed flashes of brilliance when she would slam down a kill. Her team had to run a 5-1 this tournament with a setter out but they actually looked good using that system. Once her and Grace get their connection down, she could be a constant problem for defenses. She ran multiple behind the setter sets and was very effective running the “3” ball.

We have our 2029 initial rankings coming in a few weeks. We haven't debuted a new set of rankings in quite some time. We also have Redlands on the horizon and it is was one the largest tournaments we host in the Oklahoma Region. Hats off to all those players putting in the work this holiday season and break.
