Built Different: 2029 Freshmen to Know

The freshman class of 2029 is wasting no time making an impact. These athletes have already stepped into big roles at the high school and club levels, showing confidence, production, and maturity beyond their years. With strong momentum and growing exposure, this group is positioned to turn heads all season long. Coaches, be sure to add the below players to your radar.    Analeigh is coming off a breakout freshman varsity season that set the tone early, and that success should carry right into club with her new home at Vegas Aces 15 Ren. She finished ranked top three in the state and inside the national top 100 for service aces, while also posting impressive all-around numbers across assists, digs, and kills. Analeigh delivers clean, consistent sets and can push the ball from any distance, including confident backsets out of zone four. She plays smart, competes hard, and contributes on both the front and back row. An all-around offensive setter, Analeigh continues to prove she's more than capable of running an offense and making an impact in every rotation.     Joella brings versatility and reliability to the court, making her a standout for Rancho High School this past season. At 5'10” with a 3.5 GPA, she showed the ability to impact the match in multiple roles, logging time at both middle and right side. Joella finished the season with solid production across the board, including kills, blocks, digs, and aces, and was especially dependable on the opposite pin for her high school team. Her strong swing and effective float serve helped her rack up points, and her versatility should continue to open doors as she develops further at the club level.     Lea continues to play ahead of her age, earning her way onto the varsity roster as a freshman and immediately taking control of the offense. She led her team in assists while also contributing as a scorer and defender, proving to be a steady and dependable presence on the court. Lea embraces the quarterback role, running the offense with confidence and consistency while hustling for every point. Playing up this club season with [program_tooltip program_id='636812' first='Vegas' last='United'], she enters with no pressure and plenty of upside. With her production and maturity, Lea is well-positioned to keep building momentum.     Lyla made an immediate impact in her varsity debut at Sierra Vista, stepping into a crucial role and owning it. She distributed the ball efficiently all season and played a major part in leading her team to the 4A State Championship. Lyla finished fifth in state in assists while also contributing from the service line, defensively, and at the net. Her ability to manage the offense and make teammates better stood out, and joining a national schedule with Vegas Aces 15 Ren should bring even more exposure. Expect her leadership and production to translate seamlessly into club season.     Blake is a true two-way athlete who brings value wherever she's needed. Playing outside hitter at the high school level and libero in club, she gets the best of both worlds and continues to expand her game. Blake has the potential to develop into a six-rotation outside at the next level, or she could pursue either role individually. What stands out most is her effort and mindset — she's a relentless competitor who finds a way onto the court and contributes to winning.
