It is still early in the club season, and many teams at the 21st annual Tulsa Attack tournament made their first showing of the 2026 season. Although teams are still learning to collaborate and find their chemistry, many individual players emphasized fundamentals this weekend to support their teams. These players clearly grind on technique in practice, making them indispensable on the court. On defense, she constantly moves and reacts to the play, while on offense, she runs a variety of sets to keep the blockers guessing. She prioritizes communicating with her hitters, making eye contact between each rally to clarify hits. Her middle ran a beautiful slide off of an incredibly precise set. Her focus on technique during the game provides her teammates with the security to know that she will give them her very best second touch.     Liza Griffin does everything she can to track hitters and close the block. She focused on set placement and setting IQ to help her team get the win in pool play.     Kendall Deuvall is a perfectionist who uses every touch as data to improve her technique on future touches. Her fast swings score from both pins, but her unassuming size and huge jump make her a sneaky threat, especially at the right pin. She contributes to her team through her focus on technique, combined with her speed and natural athleticism. After any touch, Kendall assesses her play and takes a mental note before moving to the next rally. She is an intentional player focused on technique, especially in competition. She is an outside Hitter who focuses on technique not only in the front row, but also in serve receive and on defense. She is a talented all-around player whose natural court awareness enables her to make sound defensive decisions. She celebrates her team, hustles after out-of-system balls, and shakes off errors. Her back-to-back kills displayed her technical savvy-- a well-placed corner tip and an exploitation of a weak block. Abighail might be on the cusp of a breakout season.
