The competition was intense this weekend at the AVC 18s Qualifier in Dallas, Texas, where the USA division delivered one of the most competitive brackets of the tournament. Only three national bids were originally available, but the final outcome created a rare and impressive scenario: every team that reached the gold bracket secured a trip to nationals.

Six teams advanced into the USA gold bracket, each battling through deep pools and high-pressure crossover matches to reach championship contention. However, half of the gold bracket field had already secured national bids earlier in the season. Under USA Volleyball bid allocation rules, when a previously qualified team finishes in a bid position, the qualification automatically trickles down to the next highest-finishing teams that have not yet qualified.

Because three of the gold bracket teams had already punched their tickets to nationals prior to the event, the remaining three teams competing in the bracket earned the available bids. As a result, all six gold bracket teams from the USA division will now represent their regions at the USAV Girls Junior National Championship this summer.

Among the gold bracket field, three teams captured their long-awaited national bids in Dallas, using strong defensive systems, balanced offensive production, and composure in pressure moments to finish the weekend on top.

TX Storm 18 Smack
TX Storm 18 Smack delivered a composed and disciplined performance throughout the tournament, showing strong system play in serve-receive and efficient transition offense. Their ability to limit errors while maintaining offensive balance allowed them to control key stretches of matches during bracket competition. With consistent contributions across the lineup, TX Storm 18 Smack capitalized on their gold bracket opportunity and secured their national bid with a confident weekend performance.

Rodarte-Clemente brings a dynamic offensive presence on the pin with a fast arm swing that consistently challenges opposing blocks. Her tempo to the ball allows her to attack seams before defenses can fully set, and she shows the ability to vary her shot selection, using roll shots, tips, and controlled swings to keep defenders off balance. Her craftiness in transition makes her especially effective when rallies extend, as she demonstrates strong awareness of defensive positioning and adjusts her attack angles accordingly.

Beyond her offensive production, Rodarte-Clemente contributes valuable energy and competitiveness on the court. She plays with confidence in high-pressure moments and shows the ability to generate momentum through scoring runs. She covers significant floor defensively, reading hitters well and positioning herself early to control hard-driven attacks. Law's court awareness, combined with her physical tools and quick decision-making, allows her to elevate the offensive efficiency of the entire lineup. Her consistency and playmaking instincts make her a strong floor leader capable of directing high-level offensive systems.

Wright is a true six-rotation outside hitter whose physicality and offensive strength stand out immediately. She generates significant power through her full-body approach, transferring strength efficiently into her arm swing to produce heavy, high-velocity attacks. Her ability to score from both the front and back row gives her team a consistent offensive option in multiple rotations, and she shows confidence attacking in high-leverage moments.

Defensively, Wright provides strong value with solid serve-receive skills and reliable back-row defense, allowing her to remain on the court in all rotations. Her willingness to take on primary passing responsibilities while still producing offensively demonstrates both conditioning and competitive toughness. The combination of power, defensive reliability, and six-rotation versatility makes Wright a well-rounded outside hitter with continued upside.

Club One AZ 18 Platinum
Club One AZ 18 Platinum demonstrated a balanced and physical style of play that translated well across the tournament field. The team's serving pressure and consistent blocking presence disrupted opponents' offensive rhythm, while their offensive unit maintained efficiency in high-leverage sets.
