High-Level Outside Hitters in the Skyline Classic 5

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The club volleyball season continues to progress at full pace in the country, and every weekend, dozens of tournaments of all levels are held in the state of Texas. Prep Dig continues to follow many of them, attending events and tracking down the most exciting young players in the Lone Star State.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On Saturday, January 31, we made it to the recently renovated facilities of the [program_tooltip program_id='510661' first='Houston' last='Skyline'] club, which hosted the Skyline Classic #5. An extremely well-rounded player, she was a centerpiece in their playing system, contributing at a high level on both sides of the ball. Wooten was very consistent in serve-receive and managed to keep almost every swing that went her way in play, doing particularly well when she peeled off the net to dig sharp-angled shots. A very technical player, she was extremely solid in serve-receive, helping keep the team in system. Yepez played with a high level of intensity at the net, making a strong approach for the ball and showing impressive firepower with her swings. She was also very good at finding open spots on the opponent's court, especially when hitting a very quick set at the pin. She was one of their pillars in serve-receive, covering a large portion of the court and using her excellent technique to deliver accurate passes to her setter. St. Amant also had good moments when playing defense, standing out for her positioning and ball control. She was the team's main scoring option and was consistently set at the pin, on the right and the middle back position. Evans was very consistent offensively, keeping her scoring rate elevated despite opponents knowing she was going to get on the ball and preparing for it.
