It's been a bit quiet to start off the new year, but we have a flurry of recent commitments to update you on.

The state of Michigan is on a roll with some incredible classes going back to back. In terms of depth, talent and overall game, these athletes continue getting better and better. This is what makes these kinds of updates so fun. These players are going to some VERY notable places!

For the first edition of Commitment Catch Up in 2026 we have a handful of dandies. From a commitment switch in the 2027 class to a few under-the-radar dandies in the 2026 class, these five have found homes that they are surely bound to thrive in! Take a look for yourself at the latest edition.

[player_tooltip player_id='442973' first='Brooklyn' last='Rummler'] to <s>Florida International</s> Indiana-Indianapolis

6'1 MB - Stoney Creek/Legacy

[player_tooltip player_id='442973' first='Brooklyn' last='Rummler'] was one of the first in the class from Michigan to mark her next move last summer. While Rummler initially announced her commitment to Florida International, what seemed like an incoming hot bed for the Michigan kids, she recently announced her reopened recruiting and committing to IU-Indianapolis.

While this a step or two closer to home for the Mitten raised athlete, this is very much an equal move from FIU. A mid-major program with potential to make big strides in the coming years. The Jags are coming off of a rather strong two year stretch that saw them in the winning column of things. Prior to that, they were a program unable to make the double digit win mark.

Rummler, at 6'1, brings this team some nice size and upward potential in the middle. She's another recent Michigan product to take their talents to the Circle City following Carly Doros, 2020 Michigan Elite alum, who had a stellar final season with the Jags in 2023.

[player_tooltip player_id='261202' first='Peyton' last='Lowes'] to Daeman

5'9 S - Northville/Legacy

This is an athlete who has found herself bouncing around throughout the last few years. Whether in her club journey, but also in her position as well. With one thing for certain, though, [player_tooltip player_id='261202' first='Peyton' last='Lowes'] will take her talents in the setting position to the next level to upstate New York.

Much like Lowes' high school career, Daeman is a program with A LOT of recent success within their program. In 2023, they found themselves just missing out on the NCAA DII Elite 8 and the following year, suffering a tough loss in the NCAA Tournament opening rounds. Similarly, Lowes found herself a part of history with Northville as she was on the roster for their first ever DI State Championship. With both parties with some high level winning experience, this could be a very good pick up for the Daemen to get back on track after a rough 2025 season.

[player_tooltip player_id='891400' first='Kimora' last='Hansbrough'] to Ursuline

5'10 OPP - Dakota/Michigan Elite

If there is going to be any athlete to turn the tides of a program around, it could very much be [player_tooltip player_id='891400' first='Kimora' last='Hansbrough'] going to Ursuline College. A program that is finding its footing under new leadership, an athlete like Hahansbrough could be the very one that helps change the tune.

Hansbrough is a late bloomer to burst onto the scene. She is coming off of a very exciting 2025 that saw her excel in both club and in high school. She was a leading scorer for the Dakota Cougars as one of the very few upperclassmen. A left handed opposite with a lot of pop in her hop, Hansbrough's game can only continue going up from here. For a program such as Ursuline, who is coming off of a 0-27 season, this is exactly what they could need.

[player_tooltip player_id='400074' first='Sable' last='Dankers'] to Daytona State

5'10 MB - Traverse City Central/Northshore

Nothing like a bit of a change of scenery to take your game to the next level. [player_tooltip player_id='400074' first='Sable' last='Dankers'] is taking her talents from the snowy coasts of Northern Michigan to the sunny coasts of Daytona Beach, Fl! Dankers is a player that has fallen under the radar for quite sometime but has really come on nicely in the last few months. She's an undersized middle that makes up with a lot of speed! Dankers gets off the ground fast and onto the ball even faster.

She'll be taking her talents to the JUCO level which is something I find to be incredibly useful for the next coming generations of volleyball stars. With the new eligibility rules allowing athletes to have up to four years of NCAA eligibility after their two years in the JUCO world, this could mean wonders for a lot of athletes and a lot of programs. A player like Dankers could truly blossom in this new environment and find herself a truly successful collegiate career at both Daytona State and beyond!

[player_tooltip player_id='762838' first='Addi' last='Vagi'] to Thiel

5'10 S/OPP - Marysville/Crank It

Rounding out this edition of the Commitment Catch Up, we have another underrated standout in [player_tooltip player_id='762838' first='Addi' last='Vagi']. This product out of Marysville has really come into her own quite nicely in the last year or so of her career. She's found herself in the position to have control on just about every part of the game. As a setter, she runs a really nice, balanced offense, but she can also dual as a very strong attacker on either pin. Vagi really was able to showcase this throughout the last club season particularly well.

Going forward, Vagi will take her talents to Pennsylvania to Thiel College, a DIII program in the strong PAC Conference. It's hard to say exactly what position Thiel will have Vagi dial in on more, her offense or her setting. Either way they go, or if they go both, Vagi is an incredible pick up. Thiel has found themselves consistently amongst the top of their conference the last few years and with an athlete like Vagi, they could find themselves breaking through to the very top.
