The Middle Blocker position is often considered to be the hardest position to play due to its physical strain both defensively and offensively. They must block opposing middles as well as both pins. They are expected to transition immediately to become a hitter and are often running an up tempo pace, requiring even more pace and effort from them. However, it is not all doom and gloom for these players. They are nearly always the player with the highest hitting percentage due to the speed at which they attack and often being in system when they are set. Lets take a look at five middles who you should keep an eye on and watch if you get a chance.

[player_tooltip player_id='821438' first='Izabella' last='Holasek'] 2028 MB for Norman. Izabella is a big time player in the class of 2028. We have her as a top 5 player overall and 2nd overall middle blocker. She will definitely have offers and the capability to play at the next level. She plays on high level teams and gets coached well year round. The ability to have great timing and be a scoring threat all across the net is very appealing to colleges. She is a type of player that opposing coaches MUST game plan against.

[player_tooltip player_id='752546' first='Leighton' last='Bauer'] 2028 MB for Edmond Memorial. Leighton has been really putting in the work to expand her game. She plays for the Stingray 16 Adidas, which is the top team for their club. She is capable of scoring via power or accuracy. If she gets a single block, she puts some mustard on it. However, if she gets a double, she is able to either turn the ball away from the blockers or mix in an off speed shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='905042' first='Harper' last='Horn'] 2029 MB for Cascia Hall. Harper is a part of the extremely talented young group of players coming up for Cascia Hall. They will be very good for years to come. She may be good at the middle blocker position but she is capable of playing any of the three hitting positions. You will see that in her approach and ability to pass. She also has a solid serve that has velocity. Look for her to learn from the upperclassmen at Cascia and compete against elite club talent, giving her every opportunity to become a legit player.

[player_tooltip player_id='789613' first='Jordyn' last='Henley'] 2029 MB for Peidmont. The 2029 and 2039 classes are loaded with solid hitters, especially at the middle blocker position. Jordyn is right in the middle of it. Much like Harper, she has the skills to play on the pins. Her ability to be loud and call for the ball in transition really helps give her plenty of scoring opportunity. She also has solid spacing with setters, this allows her to not overrun her setter and swing away.

[player_tooltip player_id='903042' first='Tylee' last='Avriett'] 2030 MB for Westmoore. Even younger but also talented. Westmoore has a very talented group of young hitters as well. She is an upcoming freshman and will look to fight for a JV or varsity spot early in her career. She loves to swing left towards the setters in right back. She has some things to work on but she has amazing upside and potential.

Make sure to let your friends know that they need to create a FREE profile. This and following us on Instagram will help us with the exposure aspect.
