The Spring Smackdown in Tulsa always brings strong competition, but this weekend it provided a great opportunity to see the next wave of players beginning to make their mark. Several young athletes stepped into key roles for their teams and showed flashes of the skills and volleyball IQ that will make them impact players as they continue to develop. These athletes are still refining their games, but their performances during pool play revealed the tools, instincts, and competitive presence that already help their teams succeed. She forces her swings to the right-back area, earning a clean kill in pool play before following it with a savvy tip to score. Her ability to mix power with placement already creates problems for defenses. As her transition from blocking to hitting continues to develop, she will become an even more consistent offensive threat.     As a defensive specialist, Adelynn Tenbrook champions her team. She celebrates every player and uses the time between whistles to communicate and organize the defense. From middle back, she reads hitters well and positions herself to dig hard-driven attacks. Offensively, she tightly covers her hitters, vocally and physically giving them the confidence to swing with speed and power. Adelynn is ready to pick up anything the defense sends back.     Ava Peck plays middle for Club ACE and stays constantly active at the net. She picks up tips and loose balls around her while staying engaged in every rally. Ava approaches confidently in the middle and earns solid touches on her blocks. As a young player adapting to the faster pace of 15s volleyball, her attentiveness and aggressive plays at the net are helping her adjust quickly to the speed of the game.     Kennedy Johnson shows strong attentiveness on defense, picking up several digs targeted to the setter's corner. Despite being a young player, she is already running a varied offense and looks to involve her middles whenever the opportunity presents itself. One of the most impressive stretches of her weekend came during an eight-point service run in pool play, where her consistency from the service line helped create separation for her team.     Ryleigh Enix is a middle who approaches with power and brings impressive versatility to the net. She not only delivers a strong swing from the middle but also showed advanced awareness in transition. After running a slide, she continued her approach and swing to hold blockers, creating an advantage for her outside hitter. She is a young player whose volleyball acumen will continue to grow, complementing her already strong physical skills.
