The PrepDig Great Lakes Grit event delivered on every level. This was an overall outstanding weekend, highlighted by a young group of athletes who came prepared, confident, and ready to stake their claim in the event in their own right. And honestly, who could blame them? These athletes trained, practiced, traveled, prepared, and competed just like every other age group in the gym. They showed up expecting to be heard and seen and they absolutely were. The 14U division, primarily made up of the Class of 2030, is right on the verge of a major transition, finishing eighth grade and preparing to enter the high school volleyball landscape. Playing alongside them were a couple of 13U teams (Class of 2031) doing exactly the same thing: challenging themselves, competing fearlessly, and proving they belonged on the floor with older athletes. That effort doesn't go unnoticed. In true “No Talent Left Behind” fashion, it's important to acknowledge not only those who stood on top, but also those who dared to step into tougher competition and answered the call.

With that, let's dive right in.

[player_tooltip player_id='939980' first='Ava' last='Stone'] | (Niva 14 Purple) – Very knowledgeable and textbook player. She was consistent throughout the tournament, showing great motor and a willingness to do what it takes to win. As a PIN, footwork was very good, and the ability to cover was superb.

[player_tooltip player_id='939983' first='Audrey' last='Miller'] | (Niva 14 Purple) – While playing Middle, she got off the net quickly, with solid footwork. Displayed a lot of communication and leadership with a high IQ. Impressed with her ability to read the floor on the defensive side, making the offense adjust to her and hit around her by creating a wall every rotation she was on the floor.

Harper O'Lynnger | (MiElite 14 NS East) – Whether she was serving up aces or helping stuff the net on blocks. She was very active and very aware all weekend. As a setter, she showed a great deal of versatility. Hands were steady, good ball placement, good knowledge of her hitters, and great decision-making for this age group.

Seraphina Houston | (RVA 14-1) – Energetic and bouncy young athlete. She is springy and utilizes her gifts right now to the best of her abilities. Quick and impressive approach, snapping on the attack, making defenders work all weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='955121' first='Nyla' last='Marks'] | (TVO 14U Legacy) – The obvious part of her game is that she is having fun no matter what. She is a gamer and always up for the challenge. She adjusts to difficult placements and still places the ball well. She reads the floor solidly. Spot's the ball for scores effortlessly.

[player_tooltip player_id='940000' first='Ava' last='Flickinger'] | (NIVA 14 BLACK) – Very loud game! Was heard all weekend. Tracks the ball with much maturity. High-level understanding of the game with the ability to make quick decisions. Fundamental skillset, quick on her feet, on the tip of her toes, and not afraid to lay it out. True anchor in the back row.

Annabella Vushaj | (MiElite 14 NS West) – Such a solid Libero, very good court awareness, and high IQ. Tracks the ball very well. Good footwork on par with her platform. Consistent passing every set.

Pela Wojciechowsk | (NIVA 14 BLACK) – Making her presence felt is not hard, considering she was probably the tallest, wiriest player on the floor. Using her length to get her hand on the ball for touches and blocks, showing her willingness to work on the defensive end. Offensively, she will reach for the sky with force.

[player_tooltip player_id='940360' first='Ava' last='Dutton'] | (Niva 14 Grey) – True leader on the floor, both verbally and through her play. She lays it out and makes it look easy. Good footwork, hustler, athletic, and court awareness. Doesn't hesitate, makes quick decisions, so instincts are natural.

Stella Emch | (MiElite 13 NS West) – Potential is pouring out of this young setter. She puts a great arch on the ball, sets the middle well, and displays knowledge of the game that wasn't expected. Hustles to get under the ball, serves consistently. Will be fun to see her grow.

📧 Connect & Work With Me

For inquiries, connections, or coverage opportunities:

👉 Visit PrepDig.Com

📱 Follow on Socials

• Instagram: @PrepDigTobias

• TikTok: @tobiaswalkeac

• X (Twitter): @PrepDigTobias | @TobiasWalk

🔥 TobiasWalker10 – Official Code & Contact Hub

🎟️ Use Code: TobiasWalker10

Get access to exclusive coverage, rankings, and recruiting tools.
