We're coming down to the wire here. Just in a few weeks teams will be duking it out in Orlando and Indianapolis looking to be crowned a national champion!

First, we have to go into the downtime of May. Every year there is one tournament to commence what I call the "regular season" of club volleyball before heading into June where we see the "post season" begin. There's no better place to be in the midwest to commence that regular season than Can Am Classic in Detroit!

There are a slew of dandies throughout this tournament. They aren't all in the open division! The Premier division for the 17s/18s division is just as chock full of potential that you need to keep an eye on. Here are five of the best taking part in the 17/18 Premier Division at Can Am this weekend in Detroit.

[player_tooltip player_id='831699' first='Ella' last='Wilcox'] - Team Pineapple

This is a player that has really come on strong to the scene this past fall with Parma Western. [player_tooltip player_id='831699' first='Ella' last='Wilcox'] is a 6'2 pin attack with a lot of length and a lot of pop on her ball. She can run just about any route you possibly can and put the ball away with ease. With Team Pineapple, Wilcox has maintained her role as a go-to outlet and seems to have only grown further as an overall player.

[player_tooltip player_id='916051' first='Quinn' last='Knoblauch'] - Team Pineapple

Alongside Wilcox, [player_tooltip player_id='916051' first='Quinn' last='Knoblauch'] is a player that more than caught my eye through this past fall season. She's a player that checks all the boxes and does it extremely well. If you want to use her as a setter, this is her bread and butter, and she runs one heck of an offense. You want her to whip out the hammer? Knoblauch has the southpaw on the right side that can trip up anybody. A left handed setter is the jack pot and this player could definitely be that for any program.

[player_tooltip player_id='762765' first='Natasha' last='Harvey'] - Club Xtreme

When I tell you that the sky is the limit for this player, I am not exaggerating. When [player_tooltip player_id='762765' first='Natasha' last='Harvey'] gets off the ground, she soars through the stratosphere. Harvey is the kind of player that not many will know about until its too late, but here I am giving you the warning sign! In the middle, at 6'2. Harvey has this natural prowess that is so exciting to behold. Despite her natural attributes and the things she is doing at this level, Harvey is still so raw and has a lot to learn. For that, at any program, should make coaches go crazy!

[player_tooltip player_id='727743' first='Jada' last='Austin'] - Monster

From one middle to another, [player_tooltip player_id='727743' first='Jada' last='Austin'] is another dandy playing for a lesser known club that could use some attention. Austin in the middle brings a lot of fire power. She hits a heavy ball and can provide some great slow down touches at the net. While sitting around 6'0, she brings nice size in the middle but also offers up a sense of her game that could lend itself well to the pins as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='442996' first='Melayna' last='Minyard'] - Dynamite

If there is anything of Dynamite at this club, it is surely the play of [player_tooltip player_id='442996' first='Melayna' last='Minyard'] at the setting position for 17-1s. This player hasn't been on my radar for that long, but for the time she has been, I have been impressed with her play. She's listed as both a setter and an outside hitter, with her hands being her primary skill. But with the experience as an attacker, you see that offensive minded nature heavily influence the way she runs her game and it makes for fun volleyball!
