Prep Dig continued its partnership with USA Volleyball at the West Coast National Qualifier Showcase, held at the Momentous Sports Center on April 1st. The event brought together athletes from across the region looking to compete in front of college coaches while being evaluated by Prep Dig scouts and court coaches. Showcases like this continue to provide a valuable platform for athletes to be seen, tested, and recognized for their individual performance and intangibles. Let's take a closer look at three players who earned Top Performer honors based on what they showed on the court.

Elayne O'Mara, a Class of 2028 outside hitter and defensive specialist from Basis Goodyear High School and [program_tooltip program_id='429225' first='Arizona' last='Saguaros Volleyball Club'], is a player who earns her keep through versatility and a relentless competitive approach that shows up on every single point. The ability to contribute both as a pin attacker and in the back row as a defensive specialist is a real recruiting asset, and college staffs at every level are looking for players who can absorb multiple roles without losing effectiveness in either one. At 5'5", she plays with a physicality and urgency that more than holds up against taller opponents, using her footwork, timing, and court instincts to stay in the point no matter how the rally develops. Her defensive reads were consistently sharp throughout the showcase and she has a knack for getting to balls that most players at her level simply concede, which tells you the competitive fire is genuine and not just situational. On the offensive side she is an active attacker who creates her own angles and does not shy away from taking swings in tough moments despite going up against taller competition. The Arizona Saguaros have built one of Arizona's most respected development programs over more than two decades and have a long track record of producing college athletes, and Elayne fits the profile of a player that environment was built to develop. Please help us congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase event.

[player_tooltip player_id='729298' first='Renee' last='Naea'], a Class of 2030 setter from Alliance Volleyball Club, is the kind of young prospect that catches your attention immediately because the feel for the position is already present before the full athleticism has even arrived. At 5'3" with years of development ahead of her, she is already showing the court awareness and distribution instincts that no amount of coaching can manufacture if they are not there to begin with. What stood out most during her time on the court was the composure she played with, running her offense calmly and making decisions that told you she was reading the defense rather than just getting the ball to her hitters and hoping for the best. Her footwork mechanics are clean enough to build on at a high level, and the technical foundation she is developing now will pay real dividends as the game speeds up around her over the next few years. There is also a natural leadership quality to the way she carries herself on the court, which is something coaches notice at every level because setters who keep their team organized and make their hitters better under pressure are genuinely rare finds in any class. For a 2030, the conversation around her should start now rather than later. Renee is a young prospect with a ceiling that is wide open and a foundation that is already worth talking about. Please help us congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase event.

[player_tooltip player_id='955457' first='Shaeya' last='Guinto'], a Class of 2029 libero from PCA Academy and Storm Volleyball Club, brought the kind of back row performance to this showcase that sticks with you well after the final whistle. At 5'3" she is built perfectly for the position and she plays every point like she understands exactly what her role means to the team around her. Her reading ability is what separates her from players who are simply quick. She processes the game ahead of contact rather than reacting after the fact, which allows her to arrive in position early and make genuinely difficult plays look manageable and routine. Her serve receive platform stayed quiet and disciplined throughout the session even against aggressive serving, and she delivered passes that kept her team in system consistently. There were several scramble sequences where she extended rallies that had no business continuing, and that kind of sustained effort has a way of shifting the momentum of a match in ways that never show up in a stat line. Please help us congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase event.
