The kind of event where, the moment you see the team list, it hits you. It's like being a kid in a candy shop. Talent everywhere. Matchups you don't normally get. And one gym packed with players chasing something bigger.   That's what makes this one special.   When you have programs like Nebraska, Texas A&M, Duke, Arizona, California, Florida already securing commits in the 2027 class—and the list keeps growing—you start to understand what this weekend really is. This isn't just another qualifier. This is a recruiting ground.   Because once those 2027 spots begin to fill, the focus shifts.   Coaches aren't just showing up to check boxes—they're planning their weekends around finding what's next. Boards in hand, names already circled, they're evaluating not just current production, but projection—especially in the 2028 class. This is where the next wave starts to take shape.   Now it gets real for the class of 2028.   This is where high-upside athletes step into pressure. Big-time clubs. National schedules. Players starting to separate—not just with physical tools, but with how they manage the game. The pace is faster. The margin for error is smaller. Every touch matters.   So why are coaches watching?   It starts with first contact. At this level, serve-receive is everything. Coaches are watching platform angles, footwork patterns, and how consistently players can deliver a ball to target under pressure. Can they stay composed when they're being served tough? Can they keep their offense in system when it matters most?   Then it shifts to decision-making.   Pins—can they stay terminal out of system? Are they tooling the block, finding seams, and adjusting mid-approach? Middles—are they staying connected in transition, running efficient routes, and closing blocks with purpose? Setters—are they managing tempo, reading the game, and keeping hitters in rhythm when the pass breaks down?   These are the details that separate players.   But beyond the skill, coaches are watching something else—something you can't always measure.   They're watching how players compete.   How do they respond after an error? What does their body language look like late in a set? Are they communicating? Are they engaged when they're not getting the ball? Do they lift their teammates—or disappear?   Because at this level, talent is expected.   Character is what gets remembered.   That's where this event hits different.   Yes, there will be high-level swings, fast tempo offenses, and blocks that change matches. But what separates players in this environment is everything around those moments—the energy, the connection, and how consistently they show up when the level rises.   And that's where players start to separate.   There are already a few athletes who continue to stand out for exactly those reasons. Janie Myers (A5 | Setter) brings a different kind of control—one built on composure and awareness. She manages tempo with purpose, delivers consistent hands, and makes high-IQ decisions when the play breaks down. What stands out is how she keeps her offense connected, never rushed, always in rhythm. Makinlee Landis (Arizona Storm | Middle) is a middle who continues to bring consistency in both movement and presence. She transitions well off the net, stays available in first tempo, and shows discipline closing seams defensively. Her ability to stay involved across rallies is exactly what coaches want to see from this position.   Taylor Otte (Iowa Premier | Middle) brings a strong physical presence with growing offensive efficiency. She establishes early in the middle and continues to stay available in transition, forcing the block to account for her. At the net, she's working to control space and take away angles, showing development that translates at higher levels.   Malie Ogbechie (Sports Academy VBC 16 Premier | Pin) brings an offensive edge that shows up across rotations. She's comfortable scoring in system and adjusts well out of system, mixing pace and shot placement to stay effective. Beyond the swings, her competitiveness and confidence continue to stand out in high-level matches.   These are the players who don't just show up—they influence the match.
