There's a lot of potential with High Performance Volleyball in their HP 16-1 squad

Amassed from around Oakland County, one of the hotbeds of volleyball in the state, this group is going toe-to-toe with many of the top club teams in the country.

Coached by Scott Pitcher, here's a look at the 16-1 squad and how they've fared this club season.

Defensive Leadership

High Performance has its defense locked down by a prospect on the rise in [player_tooltip player_id='709804' first='McKenzie' last='Reid'] at libero. The Lake Orion prospect has used her experience playing against the top hitters in the state to be one of the most reliable liberos in the class. Reid stays ready for anything and makes sure she leaves everything on the floor. [player_tooltip player_id='802927' first='Maxine' last='Dubeauclard'] is also a heady defender that can come through with a momentum-swinging dig or service ace when the team needs a boost.

Adaptable Hitters

High Performance has a nice mix of hitting options that can move along the net. Their featured outsides include [player_tooltip player_id='720520' first='Alexis' last='Donovan'], [player_tooltip player_id='852447' first='Abby' last='Lenda'], [player_tooltip player_id='765775' first='Riley' last='Schroeder'], and [player_tooltip player_id='765789' first='Vanessa' last='Artinian'], while Isabella Stuart and Emerie Powers mainly handle the middle. Donovan is a long outside that makes good adjustments at the net and looks comfortable in any situation. Lenda shows a nice range of shots and the ability to alter her shot location mid-approach. She makes the smart play. Artinian has a lot of potential, as she has a smooth approach to the net and her swing mechanics are at a high level. Schroeder has found a home on the right side with some good finishes. She can put good pop on the ball. Stuart and Powers are middles to watch, as they are showing strides with the speed of the game picking up. It should lead to some big opportunities in the coming fall season.

Dual Setters

High Performance 16-1 utilizes a pair of setting options in Sylvia Brooke and [player_tooltip player_id='765794' first='Libby' last='Minke']. The two Lakes Valley Conference foes each bring their own wrinkle to the team. Brooke is an agile setter that also has played on the right side and shows her quick reaction time in her setting. Minke is a dual-sport talent and that shows in her footwork and determination on the court. She's got a competitive fire that pushes her to making some tough sets under pressure.

Season Highlights

High Performance started the 2026 club season with some promising top-10 finishes, and are recently coming off a top-third showing at the Can Am Classic. They started with three wins, then suffered a pair of tough losses in bracket play. This group has shown flashes of what it is capable of, but struggled with consistency and working out of ruts when other teams get hot. There's good pieces on the court, they just haven't quite hit that next gear yet, but I would suspect we may still see their best play yet coming up at The Players Championship at the end of May.
