Rockwood Thunder 17 Navy Triumphs at Bid Event   Rockwood Thunder 17 Navy delivered an impressive performance at the Bid Event for 17s, finishing with a perfect 4-0 record. The team showcased its dominance with sweeps over HP Illinois 17 Select, Rockwood Thunder 17 White, and HP Illinois 17 National. In a thrilling final, they faced off against HP Illinois 17 National once more, ultimately securing victory with a nail-biting scoreline of 19-25, 25-16, 15-12.   A standout player for Rockwood Thunder 17 Navy was Addie Wright, who excelled as libero. Her defensive skills were instrumental throughout the tournament. In the middle, Peyton Dolly and Kyndal Jacobs effectively controlled the net. In contrast, the opposing pins, Hannah Garrett and Kara Stephens, played crucial roles in neutralizing the HP Illinois 17 National pin hitters.   On the other side, HP Illinois 17 National demonstrated their competitive spirit by securing victories against RT 17 Carolina, Core STL 17 Navy, No Coast 17 National, and Pursuit 17 National, with their only losses coming at the hands of Rockwood Thunder 17 Navy. Key players included Lana Kraeger and Olivia Kraus, who were formidable in the middle, and pin hitters Marlie Haag and Marley Edson, who provided significant offensive support throughout the tournament.   Blue Steel 16 Black Dominates at Bid Event   Blue Steel 16 Black entered the Bid Event as the top contender and left with the championship title, decisively defeating RT 16 Elite in the finals, 25-13 and 25-16. The team showcased an impressive performance, finishing the tournament with a perfect 5-0 record and an overall set score of 10-1.   Throughout the tournament, BSVBC 16 Black faced formidable opponents, including BSVBC 16 Blue, Club Four 16 Boost, and HPSTL 16 Orange, sweeping each of them in their respective matches. Their journey began with a challenging encounter against RT 16 Elite, which ended in a tightly contested three-set match. BSVBC 16 Black emerged victorious with scores of 17-25, 25-22, and 15-8 before repeating their success in the finals.   Key contributors to Blue Steel 16 Black's triumph included the dynamic opposite duo of Harper Whitworth and Bailey Gebke, who effectively collaborated with the middles, Lela Stinson and Adrienne Rakers, to create a formidable blocking presence. The left pin hitters, Hailey Klostermann and Kinze Reese, were also instrumental, delivering powerful attacks both in-system and out-of-system, significantly contributing to the team's success.   On the opposing side, RT 16 Elite displayed commendable effort, with standout performances from pin hitter Aubrey Toti and Remy Stack. Additionally, Gigi Foley and Lyla Badman played crucial roles in supporting their team as they secured the runner-up position.   No Coast 15 Wave Claims Championship in Thrilling Fashion   No Coast 15 Wave made a remarkable debut at the tournament, emerging as the top team after a dramatic series of matches. They began their journey with a straightforward sweep of HP South 15 Diamond, but the real test came in their next four games, each decided in thrilling three-set battles.   The team faced HP South 15 Premier first, narrowly escaping with a 31-29, 23-25, 15-12 victory. This was followed by another nail-biter against Core STL 15 Navy, where they triumphed 27-29, 26-24, 15-13. Advancing to the finals, No Coast 15 Wave overcame a strong challenge from HP Illinois 15 National, winning 24-26, 25-18, 15-9 to secure their spot in the championship match against Rockwood Thunder 15 Navy.   During the finals, key contributions came from Kinslie Leonard and Madeline Hume, who made crucial plays to maintain momentum. Libero Abigail Koelling displayed exceptional defensive skills, further solidifying the team's performance. Additionally, players Isabella Zeik, Avy Sanders, Maha Devrapally, and Haley Huling stepped up with significant plays throughout the tournament. The left pin duo of Maddy Haynes and Avery Key consistently delivered strong attacks, while setter Taylor Matthews effectively utilized her big hitters when it mattered most.   Rockwood Thunder 15 Navy finished as the runner-up with an overall record of 6-2. After starting the tournament with a narrow third-set loss (13-15) to BSVBC 15 Blue, they rallied to win their next six matches. However, their journey ended in the finals, where they fell to No Coast 15 Wave, 22-25, 25-19, 11-15.   HPSTL 14 Royal Dominates to Capture Bid Event Title   HPSTL 14 Royal showcased their prowess as the top team in the 14s category, beginning the weekend with a decisive sweep over NSSC 14 Nike with scores of 25-10 and 25-11. However, they faced a significant challenge in their next match against Pursuit 14 National, managing to secure a narrow 15-13 victory in the third set.   Following that, HPSTL 14 Royal continued their momentum with a commanding sweep against No Coast 14 Pacific. Their only setback of the tournament came in a closely contested match against Rockwood Thunder 14 Elite, where they fell 11-15 in the third set. Undeterred, they rebounded with an interclub win over HPSTL 14 Orange, triumphing 25-19 and 31-29.   The showdown against Rockwood Thunder 14 Elite saw HPSTL 14 Royal reclaim their dominance, sweeping the match 26-24 and 25-19. This victory set the stage for a one-set title match, in which HPSTL 14 Royal emerged victorious, 25-19, to capture the Bid Event title.   Rockwood Thunder 14 Elite finished with only losses to HPSTL 14 Royal during the event. They received significant contributions from libero Celia Wunderlich, outside hitter Sara Stanek, middle blocker Savannah Harris, and opposite Julia Lueckenotte, all of whom played key roles in their performance.   Leading HPSTL 14 Royal was Avery Kleekamp and Anna Burns, who executed the offense flawlessly. Middles Ava Luer and Nadia Scheetz were effective both offensively and defensively, while libero Frankie Vonderahe provided outstanding defense. The pin hitters, including Ava Mussey, Sasha Ringhofer, and Alyssa Brown, were on fire throughout the tournament, delivering powerful attacks that contributed significantly to the team's success.
