Southern Kentucky Elite Volleyball Academy East 16s Season Review

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>SKEVA East in Corbin is a sibling club of SKEVA in Bowling Green. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Southern Kentucky Elite Volleyball Academy East 16s team put together a nice season. South Laurel head coach Shelley Nunley guided the team to a 22-14 mark that included a runner-up finish in the 16 Girls Division of the Motown Mojo Tournament in Morristown, Tennessee on April 11 and 12. The team also finished third place in two other tournaments.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Four-time 13th Region champion Whitley County had great representation with four sophomores in setter Alicyn Partin, outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='829007' first='Adrienne' last='Brown'], pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='829793' first='Aubree' last='Jarboe'] and right side hitter Isabella Johnson. District and region rival Corbin also had good representation on the team with three players in sophomore defensive specialists Ava Vickers, Tyler Strain and freshman middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='890400' first='Annabelle' last='Griffin'].</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Three other players from different 13th Region teams rounded out the roster. She steps forward and uses great form to make good passes. She executes both overhead and bump passes well. Tincher is not afraid to stick out an arm to keep plays alive. Her control needs some work, but that is coming around. Jones takes sound swings in the middle and at the pins and mixes in tips. That includes using her off (left) hand on softer shots. Jones squares her body up to balls and makes sound first touches. Griffin can also tip to the sides of double blocks. Griffin angles balls off blocks and out of bounds for huge points and tkes nice out of system swings. Griffin does a good job placing overpassed balls away from opponents.
