The Can Am Classis has come and gone! This year's edition of the international clash was truly one for the books.

The Midwest teams in attendance, once again, showed up, showed out and dominated. The Premier divisions are NOTHING to slouch over. The competition within the premiers were tough and the talent in this pool of teams were high level! In the 17/18 Premier, we had some serious ballers in the field going to some exciting programs. Grand Rapid's Impact went out on top with the likes of Dynamite and Team Pineapple not far behind.

Let's break it all down of who all shined the brightest. There are plenty of names to discuss, be sure to check out these athletes!

[player_tooltip player_id='827359' first='Megan' last='Glass'] - Impact

I have been super high up on this player since seeing her ball out in the fall with Hudsonville. Megan Glass continues to be that dominating presence in the middle, She's a player that owns the net with her block and can follow up with a variety of routes to score in transition.

Kate VanAppledorn - Impact

Out goes Glass, incomes Kate VanAppledorn! This is another under-the-radar prospect that plays an exciting game in the middle. She's no stranger to blocking her opponents at the net, but what I love most about this one's game is how explosive and quick VanAppledorn is. Her speed in all aspects of the game is what makes her so dangerous.

Bri Warners - Impact

Fresh off of her commitment to Aquinas University, Bri Wanrers is putting it out there how ready she is for the next level. At 5'11, Warners brings a lot of size to her position and with that, a higher contact on the ball. This allows her to speed up her offense to an effect that kept her opponents on the struggle bus trying to keep up.

Ruby Pennala - Dynamite

This is a player that I need every college coach to keep tabs on over the next two years. This JUCO bound prospect, Ruby Pennala, is ONLY going to continue getting better and dominate at the next level. Pennala is as scrappy as they come but yet manages to incoporate a controlled touch to her defense. She, in many ways, is the heart beat to this squad.

[player_tooltip player_id='831699' first='Ella' last='Wilcox'] - [program_tooltip program_id='430155' first='Team' last='Pineapple']

Ella Wilcox could very much be a dark horse player in this class for a program on the hunt for an outside hitter. Wilcox came out of the woodworks this past fall and seeing her in action at Can Am, she's only getting better. She is in the game full time, playing all six rotations and owning the role. Her scoring prowess is felt and she backs it up with having great back court presence as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='291173' first='Brynn' last='DeGlee'] - [program_tooltip program_id='430155' first='Team' last='Pineapple']

Another outside hitter who continues to keep up her stride she found in the fall, Brynn DeGlee was looking top notch in Detroit. Opposite of Wilcox, DeGlee creates this uber effective 1-2 punch for the Pineapple squad. She has a heavy arm and can run through a variety of routes. This opens up the court for not only herself, but her teammates as well.

Reagan Lesley - Unified

If they could give Reagan Lesley every ball, they should. Lesley is very much the leading force to any success that this Unified team was finding throughout the weekend. As a six rotation outside hitter, Lesley is a well known scoring machine on the court. But the difference maker is her growth in her ball control and defense. The more balls Lesley touches in both aspects, the better result for her squad.

[player_tooltip player_id='916026' first='Lily' last='Klein'] - Pulse

Lily Klein just keeps on getting stronger and getting better. At 6'3, she already has a clear advantage over the field. But then she connects on the ball and its game over. Klein boasts one heavy arm that can thunder down a ball from anywhere along the net. Her blocking has also come a long way since the fall where she helped lead Flat Rock to a historic season.

[player_tooltip player_id='762765' first='Natasha' last='Harvey'] - Club Xtreme

Another middle who is standing head and shoulders above the competition, Natasha Harvey is going to be a HUGE pick up for any program that takes the chance. At 6'1, Harvey has the length, the vertical and athleticism it takes to compete at the highest of levels. Here, Harvey is a dominating presence at the net and is a huge piece of success for Club Xtreme.
