As we are now into May, the 2026 prep volleyball season isn't too far away.

Kids are wrapping up their club seasons and getting ready to put in the work to make a run at a state title come August.

Looking ahead, there's a lot of high-offensive potential around the state, with some teams returning a plethora of talent. Here's the second part of our look at some of the top returning offenses in the state for 2026.

Forest Hills Northern

The Huskies lost a big leader at setter in Lexie Stotenbur, but they still will have a big set of arms to throw at opponents and remain among the top teams in the state. [player_tooltip player_id='454371' first='Riley' last='Loehfelm'] (Villanova) and [player_tooltip player_id='486269' first='Brooke' last='Johnson'] are a dynamite duo of 2027 hitters, while [player_tooltip player_id='881556' first='Stella' last='Polavin'] provides 6'2” length and a lot of athleticism to complement them. No matter who is setting the ball, these three will find a way to put it away.

Grand Haven

The Buccaneers are going to be packing as much heat as anyone in 2026, led by 6'3” outside [player_tooltip player_id='462086' first='Mallory' last='Woiteshek'] (Michigan State), who is one of the most dynamic players in the state. [player_tooltip player_id='481385' first='Allison' last='Musial'] is also a very capable finisher at the net that will be back for her senior year to provide a potent 1-2 punch on the pins. [player_tooltip player_id='812998' first='Ellie' last='Goers'] and [player_tooltip player_id='778032' first='Willa' last='Gielczyk'] will also bring some added offensive depth along the net, with Goers being a middle with a high ceiling. [player_tooltip player_id='778028' first='Bria' last='Hogeboom'] is back at setter as well after having a great 2025 season running this offense.

Grand Rapids Christian

A D2 semifinalist last year, the Eagles will once again be a handful for opponents to deal with across the net. [player_tooltip player_id='442982' first='Grace' last='Goodyke'] (Dayton) is one of the top outsides in the state and back to lead this attack once again. She's got plenty of help in 6'1” middle [player_tooltip player_id='881552' first='Mya' last='McKinnon'], one of the top 2028 prospects at the position. [player_tooltip player_id='490372' first='Piper' last='Cebulski'] and [player_tooltip player_id='523841' first='Taylor' last='Frost'] also return as senior setter/hitter combo players. The two combined for over 1,000 assists and over 200 kills between them in 2025. [player_tooltip player_id='807798' first='Sylvia' last='Setsma'] also returns as another middle option to provide plenty of offensive depth for this powerhouse team.

Harper Creek

Another team that should bring plenty of thunder to the court this fall will be Harper Creek. Senior outside [player_tooltip player_id='839825' first='Camille' last='Robinson'] (East Tennessee State) attacks with as much aggression as anyone in the state. She's got great chemistry with a top prospect in the Class of 2029 in setter [player_tooltip player_id='777145' first='Andersyn' last='King'], who was one of the shining stars last fall of this very talented Michigan 2029 class. [player_tooltip player_id='805867' first='Jessa' last='Akers'] adds some additional hitting experience, while [player_tooltip player_id='849930' first='Ella' last='Brannen'] can also put the ball away while being a primary defender.

Hudsonville

The Eagles always find ways to reload and be among the top teams in the state, usually due to some potent hitters they can rely on. Six-foot middle [player_tooltip player_id='827359' first='Megan' last='Glass'] was one of the best in the state when it came to finishing rate and you should see more of the same in her senior year. She's got help on the attack from [player_tooltip player_id='888951' first='Piper' last='Vugteveen'], a promising 2029 outside, as well as fellow 2027 middle Akijah Walcott. [player_tooltip player_id='939684' first='Sofie' last='Sanders'] will be entering her junior year at setter and should be an on-court leader to get the best out of these hitters.

Jenison

Another power on the west side of the state, Jenison is always a team to look out for when it comes to offensive firepower. [player_tooltip player_id='464378' first='Ava' last='Bush-Nelson'] is one of the toughest middles in the state and she will be a handful this upcoming season. [player_tooltip player_id='467951' first='Rylee' last='Paddock'] is a standout defender, that can also shine on the outside, while [player_tooltip player_id='557447' first='Makenzie' last='Thompson'] can play anywhere along the net and put the ball away at a high rate. Cora Rotman returns as the primary setter to help keep this offensive running at a high level.

Lake Orion

The Dragons were relatively young last season, but that could lead to a bounce back 2026 season behind a lot of experience, especially on offense. [player_tooltip player_id='807779' first='Isabelle' last='Lawhorn'] has been an offensive leader for Lake Orion for years and will be one of the toughest hitters in Oakland County. She's backed up by [player_tooltip player_id='852447' first='Abby' last='Lenda'], a bit of a breakout talent last fall as a sophomore. [player_tooltip player_id='902095' first='Julia' last='Graebner'] is a returning middle that hit over .300, while [player_tooltip player_id='846725' first='Clover' last='Nash'] can provide some added depth on the attack. Caitrin O'Rourke is back as a returning setter as well.
