Triple F 16-1 Team Overview

The team did finish second out of 20 teams in the 16 Club K2 Madness Clash in February under the guidance of Jordan Varner.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Knoxville Halls sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='990725' first='Nicole' last='Powell'] is a defensive specialist and Kingston sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='990722' first='Bri' last='Hart'] gives the team power in the middle with Knoxville Central junior [player_tooltip player_id='806109' first='Kaylin' last='Wiley'] hitting from the outside and playing defensive specialist. The setters are Hardin Valley sophomore Maliya Lowery and Concord Christian junior Reyna Morales.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The other seven players bring a lot of hitting versatility. Hardin Valley sophomore Leah Ranvek plays right side hitter and defensive specialist with Hardin Valley sophomore Kylie Keim playing middle blocker or defensive specialist. Hardin Valley sophomore Piper Ayres plays middle blocker and outside hitter with Concord Christian sophomore Annabelle Brock playing middle blocker or right side hitter. Her IQ lets her place ones to different parts of the court. Hart goes up with a purpose each time she swings. Hart is especially tough on side line and gap shots. Hart gets on top of balls and sends balls screaming to the ground. Hart makes good passes then quickly gets into her attack stance. Hart is also aggressive at the net on her blocking. Powell sticks her arms out to keep plays alive. Powell makes a lot of the simple passes to set up the offensive rhythm. Powell squares her body up to balls with a great platform and makes solid passes. Powell swings her arms out quickly to dig up shots into seams. Powell makes quality out of system sets including backwards ones. Wiley has good placement on balls. She can hit off double blocks for big points. Wiley can even take quality swings from the back row when needed. Wiley also makes nice passes on defense. She hustles hard after balls to keep plays alive. Ranvik can rainbow balls over blockers to the back row and attacks the seams with precision. Ranvik sends nice roll shot to the side lines when the team is out of system.
