14/15/16U Club Division Players Who Impressed at Land of Lincoln

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This weekend I attended the Land of Lincoln tournament at the Great Lakes Volleyball facility in Aurora, IL. I mostly got to see players in the 15/16U Club division. Within that division were some impressive 14U teams as well. She really has got some hops and can get some magnificent fun kills. I watched her get at least 10 in one game. Great vertical and a nice swing. She gets up and over the defense for kills. Saw her make some good passes out of the back row as well. I saw her playing the OH position at Great Lakes. Unafraid to throw herself on the ground to keep the play going. She is vocal and a hard worker and very skilled. She played on the XP 14-1 team, and they were fun to watch. They battled against some 15 and 16-year-old teams. Ava is a good passer as well, but was fun to watch on defense and keeping plays alive. Had a chance to watch her play, and she sprayed the ball all over the court to her hitters. She kinda was sneaky with her sets. Sometimes the set surprised me, and that's a good thing. Keeps people and defenses guessing. Soft hands and a nice serve; watched her put an ace or two right over the tape of the net. She's smart too and can push the ball to the corner. She can hit down the line or crosscourt as well. Hits a heavy ball with good down spin hard for defenders to handle. Sammon reaches well for her swings, gets on top of the ball. She got some good kills in crunch time in a close match as well. Moves pretty well and has a good feel for the game and the position. Most of her sets were right on the money. Didn't matter where she got the pass; she put it on the money for her hitters to hit. Nice soft hands and passes led to nice sets. I see she may play some RS as well ... I didn't see her hit, but that is a plus for sure, if she can get some nice setter kills or be a utility-type player. Strong hitter and tough server. She has a nice vertical and is powerful. She hits hard and can hit from either side of the net. She hits the same at that OH position as she does from that RS spot. If you don't get a block up, she will detonate on you. They went toe to toe with anyone they faced. Whether the team was 15 or 16, they didn't care. Sobol was swinging hard from that OH position. I saw her get some nice kills off some powerful swings. She had a really nice vertical and just seemed powerful for her age. This team is fun to watch; they play beyond their age for sure. Sobol gets great contact on the ball is explosive.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I saw quite a bit of volleyball, and these players' names stuck out to me. Again, I have to give a shout out to the 14u teams who competed in this club division as well. This was a 15/16u club division, and the 14s who were there were fun to watch. A lot of good players here for the 14/15/16 year ages. Keep working and keep grinding.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
