Summer League Week 1 Oologah vs Chouteau

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's crazy to think that the school year is officially over and summer leagues begin tomorrow. We are very aware that they are JUST summer league and teams will be missing players from week to week, winning isn't the main priority and most haven't played as a group for many months. It is however a great opportunity to work on team chemistry, begin integrating freshman/transfers into the culture and see the growth that each individual has had over the off season. we are excited to see what the new school season has to offer for 2026.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We have the tentative schedules for both Catoosa and Claremore's summer league. If there are others, please send them our way and we dive into those as well. Lets take a look at a week one matchup that is on June 4th in Catoosa.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">Oologah vs Chouteau @ Catoosa</span></strong> </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Oologah is coming off a really solid season that ended with a 25-12 record. This was one of the best finishes in school history for the Mustangs. They were one of 8 teams to host a regional in the very tough class 4A. They did graduate a solid senior class with multiple all county first team selections such as Shadee Stewart and Ruby Hall, along with the defensive player of the year Emily Whitten. The Co-Coach of the year, Abby Piha, has some pretty good young players looking to step up big though. Just sophomores, [player_tooltip player_id='933710' first='Halle' last='Barron'] and [player_tooltip player_id='902267' first='Sofie' last='Jensen'] will I have a chance to be really good in the coming years. [player_tooltip player_id='839897' first='Abighail' last='Kelley'] had a solid club season and may be a real offensive option in big moments. It is hard to tell just yet if class 4A will be easier or tougher than prior years, but if the Mustang can develop and have a couple players step up in a big way, this team could find themselves hosting another regional again this season. <br><br>Chouteau also had arguably their best season in school history this past year. They finished the season with a 31-6 record. They started the season with 18 straight wins and didn't look back. 30 win seasons are not something that come by very often for most teams. Regional Coach of the Year, Belinda Burk, has done an unbelievable job with a small town public school program. Two of the upcoming seniors, Grace Coblentz and [player_tooltip player_id='755310' first='Natalie' last='Talavera'] are very court smart and aggressive out on the court. Being the outside hitter and middle blocker on the team, they are integral parts of this team and their leadership is something that just makes them that much more important.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Don't forget to sign up for our June showcase in OKC.
