Battle-Tested and Built to Win: A5 16-April Continues to Impress

Orlando, FL | AAU Girls National Championships   A5 Gwinnett 16-April has quietly pieced together one of Georgia's most complete performances during this year's AAU Girls National Championships. Entering Tuesday's Challenge bracket at 9-1, the squad has showcased an offense capable of scoring from every rotation while maintaining the defensive consistency needed to survive the grind of Nationals. Their lone loss came in a tightly contested three-set battle against Club One AZ Platinum, but the response has been exactly what championship-caliber teams are known for—returning to the court and continuing to win. With talent spread across every position, this is a group that doesn't rely on one player to carry the load.    Caris has the qualities coaches look for in a floor leader. She plays with confidence, communicates well, and consistently delivers a hittable ball regardless of pass location. Her ability to vary tempo allows multiple hitters to stay involved throughout a match, making the offense difficult to defend. Beyond her technical ability, Caris demonstrates strong decision-making by recognizing favorable matchups and keeping blockers from becoming comfortable. She attacks with confidence, handles serve receive responsibilities well, and competes hard through long rallies.
