Transition offense can completely change a match.

One great dig can turn into a kill just seconds later. Likewise, a team that scores in transition often gains momentum and forces opponents to play from behind. Because of that, athletes who can quickly shift from defense to offense have become incredibly valuable.

The best transition attackers stay available, move efficiently, and remain ready when opportunities appear. They don't take plays off, and they understand that the rally isn't over after the first attack.

These Class of 2029 athletes continue to stand out because of their ability to create offense when the play is still unfolding.

Brenna Moerman continues to make her presence felt whenever the rally extends beyond the first swing. She covers ground well and quickly turns defensive moments into offensive opportunities. Additionally, she stays engaged throughout the play and works hard to remain available for her setter. Her combination of size, confidence, and offensive instincts makes her a difficult player to contain once she gets moving in transition.

Madeline Pyne brings a fast-paced style that fits in transition perfectly. She gets into her approach quickly and does a great job staying prepared for unexpected opportunities. Furthermore, she adjusts well to different set locations and remains aggressive even when the offense isn't perfectly in system. Her ability to stay dynamic throughout a rally keeps pressure on opposing defenses.

Kinsley Bernum thrives when the pace of the rally picks up. She moves efficiently and consistently finds ways to stay involved after the initial attack. Additionally, she does a nice job changing her attack points and keeping blockers from settling in. Whether the ball comes quickly or develops later in the rally, Bernum is ready to capitalize on the opportunity.

At 6'1", Reese Smith presents challenges for defenses long before she contacts the ball. She stays available through transition and shows a natural ability to find scoring opportunities when plays become extended. Moreover, her offensive creativity allows her to score in a variety of ways, which makes her difficult to defend. When rallies get chaotic, Smith often seems to get even more comfortable.
