Going Gauntlet Team Preview – Iowa Impact 17-2 Elite

Iowa will be well represented across the 15-17 age groups at the competitive, pre-USAV Nationals event.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I've been fortunate enough to have seen most of the Iowa teams in person. One of the ones I did not catch, Iowa Premier 16-1,&nbsp;<a href="https://prepdig.com/2026/05/going-gauntlet-iowa-premier-16-1-claims-open-bid/?itm_source=parsely-api">was written about by Prep Dig's Chris Fitzgerald</a>&nbsp;in our "Going Gauntlet" series leading up to the show.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'll be putting together previews for the rest of our state's teams. Here's a look at&nbsp;&nbsp;Iowa Impact 17-2 Elite. <br></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:separator --> <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" /> <!-- /wp:separator --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We've talked a lot about the depth of talent in Iowa's 17U this season. Twelve teams have qualified for this month's USAV National Tournament in Indianapolis.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>That's a whole lot of instate kids lining up on club volleyball's biggest stage. The sport is alive and well here. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Iowa Impact certainly has contributed to the cause. Its Elite 17-2 squad tied for 11th place at the USAV Iowa Regional Tournament, which was good enough to earn a trickle-down Freedom Division bid to nationals. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Impact will tune up for its grand finale in Indy by competing with top teams at this week's Prep Dig Gauntlet. Tough teams will be waiting in the Premier Division.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ankeny Centennial's [player_tooltip player_id='941044' first='Teagan' last='Jackson'] is a bouncy outside that stands out for her athleticism. Her Jaguar classmate, [player_tooltip player_id='729465' first='Lily' last='Harmon'], is a well-rounded performer in the back row. The senior-to-be covers a lot of court using a combination of quickness and awareness. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='918508' first='Macie' last='Kohl'] is one of the state's most underrated 2027s. The dynamic setter is shining this club season, perhaps foreshadowing a breakout senior campaign at powerhouse Ankeny in the fall. Her classmate, [player_tooltip player_id='992194' first='Quinn' last='Roush'], should join Kohl in taking on a larger role for the Hawks this fall after appearing in all of their 37 matches last season en route to the state semifinals.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Fellow Ankeny seniors-to-be [player_tooltip player_id='992199' first='Ashley' last='Howard'] and [player_tooltip player_id='755960' first='Haylie' last='Eimers'] also could be in line for greater contributions for a Hawk outfit with designs on a deep postseason run in 2026. Howard is an active middle with long arms and emerging power. Eimers brings versatility to the court as a sound setter with the athleticism and range to be effective on the right side. <br><br>[player_tooltip player_id='845406' first='Delaney' last='Edwards']&nbsp;is a dangerous obstacle for opponents at the opposite pin. The Bondurant-Farrar product is enjoying a season for Impact that portends well for what could be coming for the Blue Jays in the fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Des Moines Christian's [player_tooltip player_id='826218' first='Faith' last='Hull'] provides impact with another finisher on the right side of the net. The long-limbed lefty boasts excellent upside. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='992201' first='Harper' last='Cowman'] of Pella is yet another weapon for Elite 17-2 at the pin. Like she did as a Dutch junior last season, Cowman is impacting matches as a two-way performer for this team. She's an excellent breakout pick for this coming prep campaign.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>ADM's [player_tooltip player_id='882456' first='Grace' last='Welch'] gives Impact another influential player in the back row, [player_tooltip player_id='992204' first='Olivia' last='Ramsay'] from Centennial and [player_tooltip player_id='992205' first='Elizabeth' last='Ebinger'] are versatile contributors at the net.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
