June 15 is one of the biggest dates on the volleyball recruiting calendar, marking the first opportunity for many NCAA Division I coaches to directly communicate with rising juniors. For setters, it can be the start of a recruiting journey that accelerates quickly.

Often referred to as the quarterback of the team, setters play a critical role in every aspect of the offense. College coaches look for setters who can make sound decisions, distribute the ball effectively, lead their teammates, and remain composed under pressure. Beyond assists, the best setters elevate the players around them by creating opportunities, managing tempo, and putting their hitters in positions to succeed.

Nevada continues to produce a talented group of setters, giving college coaches plenty of prospects to evaluate. From athletic playmakers who can impact the match in multiple ways to polished floor leaders who consistently run efficient offenses, the state's 2028 class offers a variety of skill sets at the position. As June 15 approaches, several Nevada setters are positioned to attract attention from college programs looking for leadership, court awareness, consistency, and the ability to command an offense.

As always, being left off a contact list is not a reflection of a player's future recruiting success. Nevada's 2028 class features far more talented liberos and defensive specialists than could fit into a single article. Recruiting is a constantly evolving process, and players continue to develop, improve, and create new opportunities for themselves every season. College coaches evaluate much more than rankings or lists—they look for consistency, work ethic, coachability, competitiveness, and the ability to impact winning. Keep working, keep improving, and continue putting yourself in positions to be seen. The next breakthrough could be just around the corner.
