Yesterday was the first week of summer league in Claremore. We had multiple scouts in attendance and got to see a ton of action. Of course it is just summer league, things are a bit messy and light hearted at times and that's to be expected this early. However, there were plenty of individuals who did have standout moments. Let's take a look at 6 players who did just that.

[player_tooltip player_id='755310' first='Natalie' last='Talavera']- 2027 for Chouteau. This team has some good pieces to work with early in the season. Natalie being a prime example. She is a very athletic player who has a great cross court shot that causes problems for teams all day long. Her leadership is also apparent when she is on the court for the Wildcats. She is someone opposing teams will need to keep tabs on throughout the match.

[player_tooltip player_id='741599' first='Ava' last='Tanner']- 2027 for Claremore. Ava battled through some injuries the tail end of school ball and the start of club but has really started to feel better. She has turned into quite a shot maker. She hit multiple high line shots and power swings through the gap in the block for kills. She has really been working on expanding her range with the addition of a powerful sharp cross swing. Mix that with her ability to attack out of the back row with both power and finesse, and you got a solid scoring option in all six rotations.

[player_tooltip player_id='734765' first='Kennedy' last='Graves']- 2029 for Sand Springs. Kennedy is just a sophomore but she had moments of brilliance on the pin. She swings relentlessly when it comes her way. She may not look like a heavy load but she packs quite the punch when she gets ahold of it. Look for her to battle for a starting position or at worst, add some depth to the Sandite lineup this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='874963' first='Brooklyn' last='Barnett']- 2027 for Sapulpa. Brooklyn has been a cornerstone of the Chieftain offense all of last season. Her senior season will be her time to shine. New mix of players, a new coach and new opportunities to develop and become an even bigger threat on the outside. Can she help her team get back to the state tournament?

Marcella Willard- 2029 for Dewey. Marcella caught the eyes of plenty of coaches early in the day. Her development has sky rocketed over the past season. She is a lethal attacker from every spot on the court. She had multiple tools in the toolbox and used them wisely. Such as a swipe off the outside hand of the blocker, back row cut shot and straight power when there was only a single block.

[player_tooltip player_id='611343' first='Emme' last='Baker']- 2027 for Claremore. Emme is a Tiger turned Zebra. There were signs of chemistry issues but that's to be expected with that scenario. However, her ability to score is still a problem for teams. That will only increase as she integrates into a new system and continues to work on her game. She also has a powerful serve that is tough to handle with its velocity and trajectory.
