Avoli Committed Athlete: Iowa Stock Up Showcase

My primary stomping grounds are in the Cornhusker State, but my circuit stops have featured plenty of crossovers into Iowa. 2026 is off to a roaring start through the Iowa Clash and the Quad Cities Quest, but Sunday's Stock Up Showcase added a different layer of excitement. We're officially in our summer showcase stretch, giving us a new wave of athletes to follow before the upcoming prep campaign.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The grind never stops. Athletes are still putting in summer reps while trying to remain in peak form. That led to the high level of play we saw in the Horizon Events Center, and we have plenty to discuss from our latest Des Moines visit.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>But the Stock Up Showcase wasn't solely about highlight-worthy swings and sprawling saves. We also saw the uplifting attitudes and positive competitive spirit that have come to define Prep Dig Circuit events. Through the ever-rotating lineups that showcases bring, players took the initiative to form connections and keep everyone organized. She most recently represented Iowa Impact's top 16s squad, helping the team earn strong finishes around the regional map. Impact even appeared at last month's Prep Dig Gauntlet, a notoriously stacked tournament full of Open contenders.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Fouch has elevated her high school program, too. She paced the Rams in multiple scoring categories while also putting her six-rotation prowess on display. That all-around influence showed up again as she arrived at her future club gym for Sunday's showcase.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sure, this springy left-side hitter packed the kind of firepower that makes her a can't-miss prospect. Fouch skied over opposing blockers and was particularly adept at cashing in during scramble plays. That explosiveness cannot be ignored.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>But our Avoli <em>Committed</em> Athlete exhibited the intangible traits that make her an asset no matter which club she plays for. Six-on-six teams drew from Fouch's constant encouragement and words of affirmation. She adapted to the constantly shifting circumstances of a showcase, seamlessly transitioning from one drill to the next. Fouch can step into a new lineup and instantly become a leader.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We might see a little more of that in 2027.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
