Bringing Home Silver

<p>The 2026 USAV Girls Junior National Championships have come to a close and our victors have been crowned. Many teams fought hard to make it to gold bracket and some fought even harder to make it to the championship game. While not the outcome we all hope for, we congratulate our Texas teams that battled it out until the end. Taking 2nd place in 17 American Division, Premier 17 Black G, played a hard fought game. A dynamic middle blocker for Premier that can hang with the best of them. She starts the game off early with attacks from the middle and sets the pace for her offense. Transitioning well across the net as a blocker and as an offensive threat, Braelyn is at the core of her team's energy. She communicates and encourages her teammates, keeping energy high in the long rallies, and ready to close them out with a strong swing. Taking her efforts to the serving line, Braelyn fights to be a consistent threat from anywhere on the court. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Keelyn Green, setter for Premier 17 Black, is trusted and consistent addition to her team's offense. She changes the speed of the game as soon as she gets her hands on the ball. Her set is clean, consistent, and quick. Meeting the ball in the air off a jump set and pushing her hitters to approach and swing fast to stay ahead of the defense. It does not take long for Keelyn to find a rhythm and be comfortable in any game situation, an attribute to be noted about her style of play as a standout setter. She can play defense, serve, even wing if needed, she is a player to have on the court. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Six rotation outside hitter for Premier, Peighton Purser, fills the role of whatever her team needs to win the point. Swinging from the back row or at the net, serving, defense, energy, you name it Peighton is pushing to get the job done. Her strong swing does damage from anywhere and makes her presence felt on the court early. Defensively Peighton will do the work to keep the play alive, moving to keep the ball in front and communicating with her teammates to ensure effective play. a tough game for Premier but tough players like Peighton will continue to surpass expectation in play to come.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Mila Haffer, libero and serve receive specialist for Premier. There is not a ball she wont work to get to. It is clear she is comfortable in the back court with how effectively she can read and react to a hit. She does not hesitate and moves to keep the ball in front. Her passing mechanics are seamless, making for a consistent clean pass to put her team in good position to score. Her timing, her speed, and ability to read the court are primary needs in a ds and Mila defines the term when she is in play. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Gray Malleck, another phenomenal middle blocker for Premier, continued the fight at the net in the championship game against Northern Lights. She came out with aggressive play, swinging hard for the corners, pushing the defense's limits to make something stick. Her dynamic swing gives opponents something a little tricky to read, and gives her team the advantage needed to get past a big block. Her swing paired with her size and energy, Premier 17 Black knew what they were doing with a middle heavy team.</p>
