Next Wave Has Arrived To Last Stop: Under Armour Camp MVPs

Ziva Recek-Blackmon and Mike Lingenfelter have done a fine job of identifying some of the premier prospects across the nation. With that comes starting at the lower age groups and being able to project the upcomers and the future, not an easy trait, but a skill for sure. At the 407 Volleyball Club Facility, the Middle School Camp Series was packed and live to say the least. The energy was not lacking, probably could have been toned down, might have increased the heat that was creeping in from the outside, but it didn't stop this talented group of campers from competing, making an exciting camp at the last stop of the year.    While you may not be looking for such polished, finished products, you want the fight and the skills to be there. Want the hunger, coachability, adaptability, and drive to the next levels. There are a few that stand tall and look very prosperous.     KiKi  Wright, superstar in the making. Kid with the IT factor. Athleticism, skills, drive, fire, and a smile to match, letting the game mirror itself, are fun, not forced. She is an all-around that's capable of hitting and controlling everything coming her way. Blocking and passing to complete her game.      Sophia is a versatile athlete who is a workhorse. She has the adaptability to be a strong, powerful force in the middle with good footwork and timing. To deliver a soft-touch serving with consistency and pinpoint targeting. She is mobile and athletic, and the upside is truly high.      The positional drills were thorough and driven, even for older players, so for the younger ones to step up showed a lot of maturity. Reagan showed her great reaction time, footwork, and ability to pass accurately, time after time. No overflopping, anticipating, and staying on her toes with a good deal of speed. Serving ability is high as well.      McKinley was more than the average young athlete at camp. During positional drills and mini games, she showed a mature ability to adapt to off-sets and make tremendous ones. A high-flying athlete, making it easy at times, if it's up, she is going to get it and make a highlight. Very high knowledge and composure, considering her age.     Talis' abilities as a setter stood out at camp pretty loud and clear; she was clear and focused. Her sets were consistently clean, steady, and quick. Impressive backsets and jump sets throughout the camp during the drills that carry over to game play.
