OK Conference Red Breakdown: Top Teams, Top Players in 2026

Last year saw Rockford come away with the title on its way to a Battle Creek appearance, and the winner of the conference this year could very well do the same.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here's a closer look at what the OK Red has to offer for 2026.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Rockford</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Rams were stacked entering 2025 and ranked No. 1 in the state for a good portion of the season. This year's team should be right in the mix as well, but a big loss comes up top with head coach <strong>Kelly Delacher</strong> giving up duties. This puts <strong>Katie Dahnke</strong> as the new coach of the Rams, having been an assistant with the varsity over recent years. Dahnke has a great leader to help out in senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='467901' first='Mallory' last='Wandel'] </strong>(Michigan State), one out of top all-around outside hitters in the Midwest. She will be the focus of the offense again in 2026, alongside senior middle <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='897539' first='Haley' last='Armock'] </strong>(Akron), and junior outside <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='834257' first='Kiley' last='Manyen']</strong>. Rockford will have to work in a new starting setter and libero, but junior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='752645' first='Kaila' last='Van Drie'] </strong>is a promising defender that could provide a boost in the back row.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Grand Haven</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Bucs came through with some big wins in 2025 and should feel really positive about this 2026 roster. The lineup is stacked on offense and should be one of the most dangerous in the state. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='462086' first='Mallory' last='Woiteshek'] </strong>(Michigan State) is one of the hardest outsides to deal with and enters her senior year looking to dominate. Senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='481385' first='Allison' last='Musial']</strong> and junior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='778032' first='Willa' last='Gielczyk']</strong> are great complements to Woiteshek on the outside, while <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='812998' first='Ellie' last='Goers'] </strong>is a junior middle that is a big blocking presence on top of being a solid finisher. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='778028' first='Bria' last='Hogeboom']</strong> is one of the most underrated setters in the state and she knows where to get the ball to all these big arms. Defensively, the Bucs will be strong as well with sophomore <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='892778' first='Laurel' last='Meeuwsen']</strong> back at libero, while senior <strong>Stella Lindeman </strong>returns after missing last season with an injury.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Hudsonville</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Eagles have been one of the best in the Grand Rapids area for years and are always a threat to come out with a conference title. Grand Haven had some notable graduation losses, but do return one of the top finishers in the state in senior middle <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='827359' first='Megan' last='Glass'] </strong>(Aquinas). The 6-footer hit over .450 as a junior, making her one of the most dominant middles in the state. Sophomore outside <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='888951' first='Piper' last='Vugteveen']</strong> showed some good things as a freshman and could be in for a breakout year to help the offense. Hudsonville also has senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='821770' first='Akjiah' last='Walcott']</strong> back in the middle, as well as senior <strong>White Swiercz</strong> on the outside. Both setters return, with junior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='939684' first='Sofie' last='Sanders']</strong> and senior <strong>Jaclyn Keppel</strong> back. Sanders put up some good numbers as a sophomore and has created some buzz for 2026. Defensively, <strong>Emmy Poll </strong>continued the tradition of great libero play for Hudsonville in 2025 as a sophomore.
