Outsides In Flight at the Stock Up Showcase

These six outsides were hard to miss at the Washington Stock Up Showcase in Lynnwood, Washington. The 2029 prospects were comfortable playing all around and will be players to watch as they head into their sophomore seasons of high school.    Waldorf had one of the fastest arms at the Showcase; the rangy class of 2029 prospect from Lakeside High School impressed her court coaches with her intensity and scorer's mentality. Waldorf earned a Top Performer award with her confident play and laser focus on the court, competing hard to win each and every drill and 6-on-6 opportunity.     Chiddix is a high-ceiling athlete who showed a well-rounded skill set at the Stock Up Showcase. The Bishop Blanchet sophomore can play the middle and the pins and has a smooth, trained arm swing. Court coaches noted her solid fundamentals defensively and feel she could be a fit on the outside. Chiddix looks like she may still be growing and is a player who will naturally benefit as she adds strength and physicality to her game.     We have watched Noskoff Sanchez play several times, and her performance at the Showcase showed development in her defensive game. Never afraid to take a high, hard swing on the pins, the Sehome 2029 prospect is focusing on playing solid all-around defense. She looked confident in off-block defense, taking swings and off-speed comfortably with her hands.     Brown is a player who consistently adds physicality to her game whenever we see her play in person. The 2029 prospect had more heat on her swings and a more aggressive style on overpasses and jousts at the net than when we saw her last. She has a long reach, and her high contact point can be tough for blockers to slow down.     Tuan stood out as a defensive presence, particularly when she was in the middle back. She played with strength and excellent balance. Coaches appreciated her ability to get low and push into a dig that otherwise would have hit the floor. Tuan is a calm and practiced attacker; she has an excellent step close on her approach and can control her location and swing speeds to find the best spots to score.     Jiles would not be out-worked by anyone at the Showcase; the Inglemoor outside has a good vertical and is quick in transition with a determined defensive focus that court coaches loved. Jiles has a fast burst off the floor, and at just 5'5" plays taller than her listed height. Opponents across the net from her quickly realized it was going to be tough sledding against the determined 2029 prospect.
