Upward Momentum: Six Players Climbing Georgia’s 2029 Rankings

Rankings movement is rarely about one performance. It reflects continued development, increased responsibility, stronger competition and a growing body of work that changes how an athlete is viewed within her class.   The latest update to Georgia's Class of 2029 rankings produced several notable climbs, including three athletes entering the Top 11 and three more making significant moves inside the Top 35. These six players have strengthened their positions while adding even more depth to an already competitive class.    Olivia moved 25 positions and now sits just outside the Top 10. Setters often rise as their command of the game becomes more visible because their impact is measured through much more than the quality of their hands. Tempo, decision-making, communication and the ability to create offense from imperfect situations all become increasingly important.   Her climb reflects the development of a setter becoming more established within a talented class. As Olivia continues gaining experience, her ability to organize hitters, maintain composure and influence the rhythm of the offense should remain central to her progression. ~ S.Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga     Sawyer's movement into the Top 30 highlights the growing value of athletes who can contribute on both sides of the ball. Her outside-hitter and defensive background gives her a versatile profile that can translate into passing, floor defense and front-row production.   That combination is especially important for pins working toward six-rotation roles. Remaining effective in the back row allows a hitter to stay connected to the match and contribute even when she is not the primary attacking option. Sawyer's rise reflects the value of that broader impact. ~ S.Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga     Jennifer climbed 35 spots and now sits inside the Top 30 after previously being positioned in the lower half of the rankings. Her ability to contribute as both a middle and right-side attacker gives her a valuable front-row foundation while allowing her to develop across multiple blocking and attacking responsibilities.   Players who understand more than one position often become more useful as rotations, matchups and offensive systems change. Jennifer's substantial move shows that her development is gaining recognition and establishes her as one of the most notable risers in the latest update. ~ S.Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga     Elle nearly matched Jennifer's climb, moving 35 positions and landing just outside the Top 30. Her setter/right-side combination allows her to influence the offense as both a distributor and attacker, creating lineup flexibility that can be difficult to defend.   Developing in both roles also strengthens her understanding of offensive timing and hitter-setter relationships. Elle's upward movement reflects more than positional versatility—it recognizes an athlete building the complete court awareness needed to contribute wherever her team requires her. ~ S.Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga     Macurdy made the largest jump in this group, moving an impressive 42 places and entering the Top 10. That type of rise suggests that her overall body of work has become increasingly difficult to overlook against a strong field of athletes.   Outside hitters are expected to handle some of the most demanding responsibilities on the court, from serve receive and defense to transition attacking and out-of-system swings. Macurdy's new position recognizes her growing presence within the class while placing her among the most closely watched pins in Georgia's 2029 group. ~ S.Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga     Lily's rise into the Top 10 reflects the value of an athlete who can contribute in more than one role. Her ability to operate as both a setter and right-side attacker gives her opportunities to remain involved throughout the rotation rather than being limited to one responsibility. That versatility can help a team adjust its system without sacrificing an offensive option at the net.   The next stage of Lily's development will be continuing to sharpen the complete skill set required by both positions. Balancing offensive decision-making, setting location, blocking and attacking responsibilities is demanding, but her movement to No. 8 shows how highly that all-around potential is being valued. ~ S.Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga    Lily, Macurdy, Olivia, Sawyer, Jennifer and Elle entered the latest update from different places, but each strengthened her position within Georgia's Class of 2029. Their rises reflect versatility, expanding responsibilities and the continued development necessary to stand out in a class filled with emerging talent.   Rankings will continue to change as these athletes enter their high-school seasons and gain new opportunities. For now, these six have created meaningful momentum—and given evaluators several reasons to continue watching their progress.
